WinImage beta RELEASE CANDIDATE 3.07.3046 - 21 July 1997

This is a beta RELEASE CANDIDATE of WinImage professional 3.07.3046.
WinImage 4.0 will normally be released this summer


There is only Win32 version, but this beta normally run under Win32s 1.30c

As the final version will probably be soon released.
Test it. Only beta tester can help me doing a version without regression bug !
IT'S IMPORTANT BE SURE THIS NEW VERSION DON'T BROKE FUNCTION THAT WORK WELL IN 
PREVIOUS VERSIONS!

No Feature will normally be added in final. Only bugs fixes, adaptation of the
help file and translation in foreign language.


WinImage Professional 4.0 price for NEW USER of WinImage will be $60.
WinImage Standard 4.0 price for NEW USER of WinImage will be $30.
WinImage Standard 4.0 price for registered user of old WinImage will be FREE
WinImage Professional 4.0 price for registered user of previous WinImage 
                            or 4.0 Standard will be between $25 and $35

Note that all upgrade from 1.0 to 3.0 and, upgrade to 4.0 standard for actual
Registered user. I think 4.0 standard contain major user interface improvement.

If you want a WinImage Pro code NOW, before the release of 4.0, send me email.
I can give on for $30 (if you have already WinImage license), or $60 (new user).
This license will allow you redistribute SFX with beta 3046 and, of course,
with the final 4.0.

If you have no WinImage Pro license, you can use 30 days (30 REAL days : if you
start test 1 July and use only even day, you can use until 1 September).
After, you'll be switched in standard mode. 

You select mode with "WinImage mode selection" in Option menu.

What is new in WinImage 4.0 standard, since 3.0 :

- Command line option
- I've written a true wizard (several screen with Next and Previous !)
                         as alternative of the Batch assistant dialog box.
- Batch options can be saved in a .BWZ file
- Display icon in taskbar when working : when WinImage work on floppy or in
       batch assistant, it display an icon in Win95/NT4 taskbar. It blink
       when user input needed. (see Option->Setting, general Tabs).
- Automatically show WinImage when user input needed : When user is needed
       (change floppy, error,...), WinImage come in foreground automatically.
       So you can Minimize WinImage during long operation (floppy...), and be
       sure don't forget it! (see Option->Setting, general Tabs).
- Toolbar button are modern
- New in this beta : If you have a FAT32 partition (created by Windows 95
       OEMSR2), you cannot read this partition under Windows NT4.0. With the
       File connect Fat32 drive, you can open your partition under
       WindowsNT4.0 (you need Administrative right).

What is added in professional version 4.0 :
- all feature of standard version
- Self extractor with unlimited redistribution license (see wima_sfx.txt)
- We can export the directory of the current image in text or HTML.
- Print the directory of the image
- Edit boot sector properties (ie load another boot sector file, edit a text
                                                      in the boot sector...)
- Support creation of large image of removable and hard disk under Windows NT
    and Windows 95 large image (> 2.88 MB) are not loaded in memory, read and
    write operation are done directly in image file
       --> This is a new and very important option, test it if you can
       --> Feedback (bug or positive is welcome)



Command line option prototype in WinImage (std or pro) :
'WINIMAGE [source [destination] [options]]'
'WINIMAGE file.ima' : Load the file file.ima
'WINIMAGE file.ima A:' : Load the file file.ima, write on A: and exit
'WINIMAGE A: file.ima' : Load from floppy A: and save file.ima
Option :
/F : Format when write a floppy in command line operation
/E : Do Extract (second parameter can be destination)
/X : Do Extract with sub-dir (second parameter can be destination)
/Q : Always exit after command line operation
/H : Hide main WinImage window
/NX : Never exit after command line operation
/Nxxx (where xxx is DMF1024, DMF2048, 144, 120...) : Create a new image
/Txxx (where xxx is DMF1024, DMF2048, 144, 120...) : Transform image size
/I xxx : Inject file or directory xxx
