The BusinesSuite Module for Oracle, used in conjunction with NetWorker, provides reliable, high-performance online data protection for Oracle7 and Oracle8 databases. The BusinesSuite Module extends NetWorker's scheduling and media management services to the Oracle7 Enterprise Backup Utility (EBU) and Oracle8 Recovery Manager (RMAN) utilities which provide parallel database backup for Oracle7 and Oracle8 databases, with granularity down to the DTA file level. Oracle backup/restore utilities, EBU and RMAN, provide a database-aware mechanism to backup and recover Oracle data files, control files, and online redo logs, while maintaining database security and referential integrity. NetWorker extends this protection with built-in features for consistent enforcement of backup policies, automatic verification of backup operations, and comprehensive media management. NetWorker and Oracle together provide online and offline backup for tablespaces located on UFS filesystems, AdvFS filesystems, and raw partitions. If the NetWorker server software resides on a different system, the Oracle server system requires the NetWorker DIGITAL UNIX client V5.2 or higher software. o Patch number 2.12-003 This patch allows the BusinesSuite Module for Oracle V2.1B to function on a DIGITAL TruCluster V1.5 Available Server environment.
