COMPAQ Software Product Description ___________________________________________________________________ PRODUCT NAME: Performance Analysis Web Zone Server SPD 70.73.00 Version 1.0 DESCRIPTION With Compaq Enterprise Performance Analysis Web Zone (PAWZ), you can quickly and easily view system performance data frommultiple systems running on various platforms from a single web-based station. With a simple Web connection and password, you can view high-level or detailed system performance information including major system components. You save time, your employees are more productivity and overall system per- formance is improved. Compaq Enterprise PAWZ is also noteworthy for its versatility. At the same time that IT management receives the high-level management per- formance reports, your system managers are viewing detailed informa- tion they're used to seeing with traditional performance tools. The PAWZ Server communicates with the PAWZ agents in the transfer of data files to and from the agents. The data is generally pulled at pre- scheduled times but can also be pulled upon request. The data is stored by the PAWZ Server in an SQL Server database where it is later retrieved and displayed for analysis by the PAWZ Web in- terface. Prior to installing the Performance Analysis Web Zone Server, your per- sonal computer must be running Microsoft Windows NT Server V4.0 (Ser- vice PAK 4), must have installed and be running both Microsoft SQL Server Version 7.0 and Microsoft Internet Information Server Version 4.0 (avail- able on the Microsoft Options PAK V4.0). FEATURES/BENEFITS The PAWZ Environment The Performance Analysis Web Zone environment consists of the PAWZ Server and PAWZ Agents. The PAWZ Server operates on the Windows NT Operat- ing System. PAWZ Agents are supported on the OpenVMS and Tru64 UNIX operating systems. The PAWZ Agent Compaq's Performance Analysis Web Zone (PAWZ) Agent is used by the PAWZ Server to control the Capacity Planner data collectors and provide per- formance data to the PAWZ Server. Each agent, upon a request from the PAWZ Server, provides performance data that can be viewed, managed, and analyzed from the Server. A PAWZ Agent can be located on a Tru64 UNIX, OpenVMS VAX, and Open- VMS ALPHA operating system. WEB Interface PAWZ is a web-based tool that lets you manage, view, and analyze your data through an independent web based browser interface. PAWZ V1.0 sup- ports Netscape Navigator[R] V4.5 and Microsoft Internet Explorer[TM] V4.0. The web interface is used to perform all PAWZ functions. 2 Administrator and User Levels PAWZ offers two user levels, an Administrator level and a User level. The Administrator level lets the PAWZ Administrator manage the PAWZ environment. The Administrator creates and registers accounts, cre- ates profiles, and manages the PAWZ web site. The User level lets PAWZ users view performance data for analysis pur- poses. Compliments DIGITAL's Capacity Planner PAWZ makes DIGITAL's Capacity Planner an even more powerful tool to analyze your entire enterprise. Year 2000 Ready The Performance Analysis Web Zone is Year 2000 ready. This product is capable of accurately processing, providing, and/or receiving data from, into and between the twentieth and the twenty- first centuries, and the years 1999 and 2000, including leap year cal- culations, when used in accordance with the associated product doc- umentation and provided that all hardware, firmware and software used in combination with the product properly exchange accurate date data with the product.
