DIGITAL MultiSwitch Hub 624T Port-group switching Ethernet hub to quickly and easily reallocate bandwidth without adding cost The Digital MultiSwitch 600 system integrates a complete range of 10 Mb/s and 100 Mb/s shared and switched Ethernet solutions to incrementally expand your network's performance and capabilities. The MultiSwitch Hub 624T starts you off with 24 10BaseT ports for workgroup connectivity. This expandable Ethernet hub is part of Digital's enVISN networking architecture, enabling you to flexibly configure scalable networks for workgroups, departments and enterprise backbones without scarificing prior investments. The Digital MultiSwitch Hub 624T includes 24 shielded UTP connectors and an expansion slot for either an additional 12 10BaseT ports or up to 2 hot-swappable modular media interfaces. Media options include 10BaseT, 10Base2, 10Base5, and 10BaseFL. Through clearVISN management software, the MultiSwitch Hub 624T offers you the flexibility to transform 36 Ethernet ports - configured as a single shared LAN - into three 12-port groups, each with 10 Mb/s of bandwidth. In an instant, you've multiplied your available bandwidth with no additional investment. Each port group may, in turn, be assigned to a modular uplink in the same hub for easy connection to servers and backbones. Each MultiSwitch hub offers port level security and detailed traffic statistics to efficiently control and allocate bandwidth as your needs evolve with no additional hardware. Flexibly configure workgroup LANs for top performance Benefits Expands from 24 users on a single LAN segment to three twelve-port groups, each with 10 Mb/s of bandwidth - all with per-port security and control Scales smoothly up to 24 port groups and 288 Ethernet ports across seven Ethernet LANs, with a mix of modular media uplinks Increases performance by integrating with Ethernet and Fast Ethernet switches and hubs in a single, stackable solution Reduces configuration problems and cable faults with unique cable-free stack interconnect for connectivity, LAN segmentation, and management Protects investments by allowing each hub to be implemented in standalone, stackable or chassis-based configurations Simplifies management with unique single IP address for all hubs and switches in a stack - all managed by clearVISN graphical SNMP software An Ethernet hub that adapts to your changing needs When configured as part of an integrated MultiSwitch 600 solution, the MultiSwitch Hub 624T maximizes your network flexibility and performance. Within a managed MultiSwitch 600 stack, individual port groups can be assigned to one of seven Ethernet LANs, which can be software-configured on the stack's internal backplane. Adding users is a snap. Simply stack on another MultiSwitch Hub 624T using Digital's unique, cable-free stack interconnect, and you'll get additional ports - up to 288 total shared Ethernet ports - in a single stack. Or add Ethernet and Fast Ethernet switches and hubs for even greater bandwidth. As a member of Digital's MultiSwitch 600 product family, the MultiSwitch Hub 624T operates and is manageable in standalone, stackable, and chassis-based configurations for maximum design flexibility. MultiSwitch 600 modules snap right into the DEChub 900 MultiSwitch chassis as part of multitechnology, multi-gigabit network solutions. And all MultiSwitch 600 modules are hot-swappable in stacks or chassis to deliver reliable network performance. Graphical SNMP software to easily manage your dynamic workgroups Managing the MultiSwitch Hub 624T is easy. The MultiSwitch 600 Stack Director* provides built-in SNMP to manage an entire stack of up to eight modules as a single domain with just one IP address. Then use the Digital clearVISN Stack Manager or clearVISN MultiChassis Manager applications to create and assign port groups, or dynamically configure LAN segments by simply pointing and clicking. With clearVISN, you get a pictorial view of all the modules installed in the stack - whether managing in band or out of band - all on a low-cost PC platform. * Only one MultiSwitch 600 Stack Director needed per stack Product specifications Height 4.45 cm (1.75 in), installed horizontally 44.45 cm (17.5 in), installed vertically Width 44.45 cm (17.5 in), installed horizontally 4.45 cm (1.75 in), installed vertically Depth 15.25 cm (6.02 in) Weight 1.40 kg (3.00 lb) Operating temperature 10% to 95% noncondensing Altitude Operating: Sea level to 2,400 m (8,000 ft) Nonoperating: Sea level to 4,900 m (16,000 ft) Power 5.2V @ 4.8A 12.0V @ 80mA 15.0V @ 0.0A Shock (Class A/B for products 10 G/10 ms half sine pulse in three weighing under 100 lbs) orthogonal axes Vibration (Class C) 5 to 200 Hz sine sweep @ 0.25 G limited by 0.5 mm (0.02 in) displacement DA* 200 to 500 Hz sine sweep @ 0.10 G Certification CE, CSA, FCC, TUV, UL, VCCI Include an additional 2.02 kg (4.45 lb) when attached to a Stack Director or an additional 1.80 kg (4.00 lb) when attached to a Stack Station for sites above 2,400 m (8,000 ft), decrease the operating temperature specification by 1.8 C for each 1,000 m or 3.2 F for each 3,200 ft.
