Use the New Hard Partition dialog box create a hard partition.
The New Hard Partition dialog box is accessed from the Partitions context popup menu.

Hard Partition Name |
The name of the new hard partition you are creating. Names are case sensitive, must be unique, and have a maximum of 20 alphanumeric characters including underscores. |

Maximum CPUs |
The maximum number of CPUs that can ever be placed in the new partition. The default is the total number of CPUs present in the platform. |

Striping |
Striping is the splitting of physical memory across a set of RIMMs. Use the drop-down box to select striping or no striping. The default is No Striping. |

Accept the choices on this screen. |
