Accessing AMU through SPM running on an AMS
From the Server Platform Manager (SPM), AMU can be accessed only by a user who is logged in as an operator or administrator on SPM.
Security is provided by the SPM GUI through which you access AMU.
There are three levels of security privileges in SPM: administrator, operator and guest. When SPM is launched, the default user, guest, is the current user.
To perform privileged tasks, including accessing AMU, you must first be assigned operator or administrator access, then log into the SPM system by establishing a connection to the Sysman Authentication Server using your OS password. SPM returns from either operator or administrator to the default user, guest, when you log out.
If you are accessing AMU directly
AMU as a standalone application provides no authentication or authorization. We recommend that you use AMU standalone only in a secure environment.
