Creating a Template

You can create a new template by basing it on an existing template or without a template base.

Based on existing template

  1. Right-click the template on which you want to base the new one in the left frame and select Duplicate Template. The New Template dialog box displays with the Name and Description fields filled in. You can accept these suggestions or change them and click OK.

  2. The left frame displays an entry for the new template. The existing template, along with the Components tool box and Component Properties box, displays in the right frame. To add a component to the cabinet, drag and drop it from the Components tool box. Drag a component to move it, and drag it outside of the cabinet to delete it.

  3. When you have finished creating the template, right-click the new template name in the left frame and select Save to save the template or Undo Edit to discard the changes.

The new template is immediately available in the AMS environment when you save it. To assign the new template to a platform in SPM, right-click the platform and select Modify from the context menu. Select the new template from the Template combo box.
