When you click on the Commit button on the Create or Modify a Partition Map dialog box, you will follow this sequence of events:
1. You will be asked to verify that you wish to commit.
2. You will be warned of any Validation errors and warnings. If there are errors, you will not be permitted to continue until fixing the problem or verifying that it is OK.
3. If
APW finds any of these errors, you are prevented from committing the map:
Error: Each partition must have a unique partition name.
Error: Supply a unique console name for partition name.
Error: Supply a unique console name for soft partition name in partition name.
Error: This commit affects running operating systems.
For more information on errors, see Problems Committing a Partition Map.
4. If
APW finds any of the following warnings, you are prompted to respond Yes
or No on whether you want to commit:
Warning: Some Duos are unassigned.
Warning: Partition name is not valid in the mesh.
Warning: Partition name needs more CPUs, Memory, or I/O.
Warning: Some Duos within partition name are unassigned.

5. If the map has not been saved to a file, you will be prompted to do so.
When the commit is accepted, APW applies the map to the system and restarts the system. The Commit Status dialog box will appear with a running display of the partitioning tasks taking place and the elapsed time. A status box shows the progress of the commit and the commit status is written to the log file.

Click "OK" to view the new Partition Map in the Committed Partition Map dialog box.
