After a platform is physically added to the group connected to the AMS via a NAT box or terminal server, it must be added to the SPM database. Once a platform is added to the database, the SPM server establishes a connection to the platform and retrieves its configuration. The platform's configuration is then displayed in SPM and the Properties Dialog Boxes.
When you add, remove, or modify a platform, the information is updated on all SPM clients that are running at the time.
Click to select Platforms in the left frame of the main display.
Go to the Platforms Icon Action Menu and access the Add Platform Dialog Box by doing one of the following:
With Platforms selected, from the Actions menu select Add Platform.
or
Right-click Platforms and from the pop-up menu select Add Platform.
or
Right-click the Platforms icon in the right frame of the main display and select Properties.
Enter the information requested in the Add Platform Dialog Box and click OK.
Wait until the SPM server discovers the platform and the SPM client displays the platform and its partitions in the left frame. Then configure a partition to access the new platform's console.
