The Assign User Access dialog box can be used to assign SPM specific authorization roles to amsuser group accounts. The amsuser group is created on the AMS server by the AMS kit installer. The OS administrator must assign OS accounts to the amsuser group for any user who needs to use the AMS applications to manage GS47/GS80/GS1280 platforms
Accounts in the amsuser group are given guest access privileges to SPM. An administrator may use the Assign User Access dialog box to change the access role from guest to administrator or operator and back again.
Each AMS user is assigned one of the three SPM access roles, or security levels: administrator, operator, and guest (guest is the default). The default administrator is always the root account.
See Security Privilege Levels for a detailed description of the functions available to each level.
The Assign User Access dialog box is accessed by pulling down the Configuration menu on the menu bar and selecting Security > Assign User Access.
A list of all amsuser accounts and their current SPM roles is displayed.
Select the user to whom you want to assign a new SPM role (the username appears in the name space). Use the pull-down menu to select the new access role. Click Modify to apply the change.
