The File menu is accessed from the menu bar. The table below shows the options displayed on the File menu and provides a brief description of each.
When SPM is first invoked (before a user logs in through the Authentication Server), a default user, "guest", is the current user. As a "guest", privileges are limited to viewing operations. SPM returns to the default user "guest" when the user logs out.

Login |
Log in to the SPM system; establishes a connection to the Authentication Server. The authentication server displays the SPM Login Dialog Box for the user to supply appropriate login credentials. Login is enabled only if a user is not currently logged in. |

Logout |
Authenticated user log out; return to limited default user "guest" privileges. Logout is enabled only if a user is currently logged in. |

Exit |
When SPM is invoked from the command line on a local AMS computer, you can exit the SPM application by selecting Exit from the File menu of the SPM menu bar. |
