Log Files

Console Log Files

The AMS console manager (cmfd) logs the output from a console into the file consolename.log. Console output logging is in effect when Log Console Output is selected in the Console Logging item of the Actions menu. By default cmfd archives the consolename.log file every seven days. You can change the archiving period with the Set Logfile Archive Period dialog box. The directory /usr/opt/ams/logs/cmf.dated/current contains all current log files. Archived files are saved in /usr/opt/ams/logs/cmf.dated. The /usr/opt/ams/logs directory is preserved during AMS software updates. It is the responsibility of the administrator to remove old files.

Other AMS Log Files

The directory /usr/opt/ams/tomcat/logs contains files generated by the Tomcat Web server. You should check the size of the log files occasionally, in particular the file catalina.out. Files can be saved or deleted. New files are generated the next time Tomcat starts.

The directory /usr/opt/ams/tomcat/webapps/spm/WEB-INF/log contains files generated by AMU. The list of files includes MBM error logs and AMU application logs.
