July 2006 The SE7230NH1.reg and SE7230NH1LX.reg registry files are updates to the Windows* registry files provided with Intel Server Manger 8.40. The ISM 8.40 registry files provided on the original CD do not correctly configure the temperature maximum threshold for the temperature sensor located between memory slot DIMMs 1B and 2A. These new registry files will correct the Intel Server Manager 8.40 application for systems that are experiencing maximum temperature threshold alerts. Note that this registry fix will also rename the temperature sensor (located inside the hardware management controller) from "Baseboard" to "Other". Also, this registry fix will incorporate the fix described in Technical Advisory TA-801-2. TA-801-2 made an adjustment to the minimum threshold for the CPU core voltage. SE7230NH1.reg file is for the SE7230NH1 LC version MM#872389 Se7230NH1LX.reg file is for the SE7230NH1 LX version MM#872388 Install the registry file using the following procedures: 1. If Intel Server Manager 8.40 is currently running, exit the Intel Server Manager 8.40 application. 2. Copy the appropriate SE7230NH1.reg or SE7230NH1LX.reg registry file to the SE7230NH1 hard drive or alternately copy the file to a floppy disk and insert the floppy disk into the SE7230NH1 or SE7230NH1LX system. 3. Double click on the registry file to add these entries to the Windows registry. 4. Click Yes when the Registry Editor dialog box asks if you would like to add the information to the registry. 5. Click OK when the Registry Editor dialog box messages says that the information has been successfully entered into the registry. 6. In order for Intel Server Manager 8.40 to recognizes these changes, you must reboot the system.
