                         IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTES
=============================================================================
- The following files are necessary to update the firmware:
  BMC51UPN.bat - Batch file used to update the firmware (pia and operational)
  BMC51UPO.bat - Batch file used to update the firmware (boot block, pia and operational)
  BMC51DEF.bat - Batch file used to update the firmware (boot block, pia and operational) with default BMC configuration settings.
  HWBMC50.hex - BMC 0.50 firmware hex file for the SHW40 and SHW40M platform
  FWPIAUpd.exe - DOS utility to program firmware hex file into the flash device
  EFS_125.hex - Embeded Web server hex file
  upd_efs.bat - Batch file to update Embeded webserver hex file
  bmc.mib - MIB file for the SNMP

Executing the fwpiaupd utility with your own command switches if unsupported
and may leave your baseboard in a non-operational state! Please use the
provided batch file to update the firmware.

Executing the batch file should be done from WIn98 DOS (4.10.2222).
FWPIAUpd.exe currently fails under DOS 6.22 and has not been tested on Harwich
with any other versions.

=============================================================================
          INSTALLATION PROCEDURE (To update from older Harwich BMC release)
=============================================================================

* Must be done in this order described below

1. Remove the AC cord

2.On the IMM card, move the boot block write protect jumper (J1B1) to short
  pins 1-2 which will enable boot block writing.

3. Plug in AC cord, and boot to DOS prompt (WIN 98 DOS).

4. Switch to BMC51 folder and execute batch file (BMC51UPO.bat) to update. you should see
    boot code, pia, and opcode be programmed.

5. Remove the AC cord

6.On the IMM card, move the boot block write protect jumper (J1B1) to short
  pins 2 and 3 which will disable boot block writing.

7. Plug in AC cord

8. For Platform SMTP ALERT features to work - if updating from a older (BMC24 or less) releases to
   this version of BMC then use BMCxxDEF.bat file (This updates the BMC default configuration)
   NOTE - This action will remove all the earlier BMC configurations of the system

=============================================================================
                           KNOWN ISSUES/WORKAROUNDS
=============================================================================
- When using the Embedded Web Server (only available on Advanced IMM cards), pressing the browser's "Back"
  button (after previously resetting the system with the Sys Reset Button) may cause the system to reset
  again.

- BIOS will display the 8300 (Baseboard management controller) error message and pause the system, if the self test
code from the BMC is not OK.
