Update from V1.0 to V2.0.3

Update from V1.1/2.0 to V2.0.3

Please note before updating agent/BIOS:

1)       The user must select the correct update file.

l           The firmware update file is different for different motherboards.

l           The user must check the motherboard type in order to select the correct firmware update file.

2)       The user needs to import the firmware update file using the Utility Tool.

3)       Start to update only after the above two steps have been completed.

1. Check the motherboard type

Intel® Platform Administrator firmware update file names are created using the following formula: [IntelPATAgent] + [motherboard series model].

l           “IntelPATAgent865.exe” is used to update the firmware of 865 series motherboards

l           “IntelPATAgent915.exe” is used to update the firmware of 915 series motherboards.

There are two methods to determine the motherboard type:

Option 1.  From the Server Management Console

On the Managed Clients page in the server management console, motherboard information is displayed in the Board Type column. The user can determine the motherboard type by examining first five characters in the information displayed.

l           If the Board Type column shows CK86510J.1171, then the first five characters are CK865, which means that the motherboard is from the 865 series.

l           If the Board Type column shows DT91510J.0222, then the first five characters are DT915, which that means that the motherboard is from the 915 series.

Option 2.  From the client BIOS

1)       Start the client, and press F2 to enter BIOS.

2)       Click the Main tab, and look at the BIOS Version information, as seen below:

3)       The user can determine the motherboard type by referring to the first five characters of the information shown in BIOS Version column.

l           If the BIOS Version column shows CK86510J.86A.1171.2005.0601.1027, then the first 5 digits are CK865, which means that the motherboard is from the 865 series.

l           If the BIOS Version column shows DT91510J.86A.0222.2005.0714.1604, then the first five digits are DT915, which means that the motherboard is from the 915 series.
