Patch Set 10007

This patch set includes 2 patches, 10007-01 and 10007-02. 

IMPORTANT: You must first install patch 10007-01 on ALL STORAGE MODULES IN THE CLUSTER
before installing patch 10007-02. 

See the instructions below for the individual patches.

Downloading the patches:

Download the patches to a temporary location. The files are available from your vendor.


Patch 10007-01:

Fixes:
------
Description:  This patch runs sysctl to allow Linux memory overcommitment in Storage System Software version 6.6 
on SSR212MA platforms.  The patch should be applied to all storage modules 
in the cluster before applying patch 10007-02 to any of the storage modules.

Storage System Software versions: 6.6.00.2699, 6.6.00.6101

Platforms: SSR212MA

Storage Module Reboot Required: No

Storage Server Restart Required: No

How to Apply:
 
1. Download the patch upgrade file.
2. Using the Storage Management Console, select the first storage module you want to upgrade.
3. Click Storage Module Tasks and select Edit Configuration to log in. 
4. On the Storage Module category, Information tab, click Install Software. 
5. Click "Browse..." button and select the patch upgrade file that you downloaded from the ftp site.
6. Select "Open Install File"
7. Select the storage module that requires the patch.  
8. Select Install file on selected Storage Modules one at a time (Recommended).
9. Click OK.

Repeat steps 1 through 9 for all storage modules in the cluster.

Note: Rarely encountered is an issue where the post-qualification phase of the this upgrade fails and 
appears to hang. If this happens, simply reapply the patch. 

After all the storage modules have been patched

10. Click OK in the popup requesting the install status be checked.
11. Click Close in the Install Status window.
12. Click Close in the Install Software window.

Patch 10007-02:

WARNING: Patch 10007-01 should be applied to all storage modules in the cluster before installing this patch. 
Installing this patch restarts the storage module.  Unreplicated volumes will become unavailable, so disconnect 
unreplicated volumes while performing this upgrade.  Also, performance disturbances and iSCSI connection 
disruptions can occur while the storage module is restarting.

How to Apply: 
1. Download the patch upgrade file.
2. Using the Storage Management Console, select the first storage module you want to upgrade.

After the installation completes, the system reboots. After the system comes back online, 
it conducts a post-install qualification. After the system passes the post-install qualification, 
the upgrade process is complete.

10. Click OK in the popup requesting the install status be checked.
11. Click Close in the Install Status window.
12. Click Close in the Install Software window.
