15.4.4 Setting an action at a server in the event of an alert

To set a server operation that is to be performed when an alert occurs (such as powering off and rebooting):

  1. In the Host management window, in the detail area, select the check box for the server for which an operation is to be set.
You can select only one server. Multiple servers cannot be selected.
  2. From the Settings menu, choose Agent service settings.
The Agent service settings window appears.
  3. Click the Alert attribute setting menu.
  4. From the list of alerts, select the alert for which a server operation is to be set.
The list of alerts includes only alerts that can be reported by the selected server.
  5. Set Server operation when event occurred.
Set the server's power handling when an event occurs and whether active processes are to be terminated forcibly.
You can set Forced termination of process only when Power off or Reboot is selected.
Forced termination of process means that each process running at the server is to be terminated forcibly when the server is shut down by the power-off or reboot operation.
  6. Click the Apply button.
The server operation is set for the selected server. The specified setting takes effect as soon as the Apply button is clicked.

The following figure shows the operation flow:

Note
Once the server operation defined for an event has been executed, the defined setting is reset (to Do nothing). Therefore, you must define the settings again after the server operation has been executed.
