Solution
This is expected behavior. The IntelŽ Application Accelerator does not support a sysprep installation.
Intel Application Accelerator can be installed after the operating system. Installation of the Intel Application Accelerator can also be automated via the [GuiRunOnce] section of the SYSPREP.INF file in order to run a silent installation. Information on command line switches for silent installation of Intel Application Accelerator is available in the readme.

Solution
To install the driver using the unattended installation method, add the following entry to the cmdlines.txt file: IATA_CD -A -S

Solution
Intel recommends that you install the Microsoft Windows* storage driver to address this issue. This can be accomplished by uninstalling the IntelŽ Application Accelerator software.
The cause of this issue is unknown, but it appears to be an acoustic issue.
Solution
To determine the current configuration of the ATA devices, run the Intel Application Accelerator diagnostic utility.
|
This will install the Intel Application Accelerator and at the same time will configure any devices attached to the chipset's controller to run at a lower PIO transfer mode.
Step 2 - Raising the Transfer Speeds
If this corrects the issues you were previously experiencing, it is a good indication that one of the devices currently installed in your system is not fully capable of running at its optimal transfer mode. We recommend completing the following steps:
|
Windows 98*, Windows 98 Second Edition*, and Windows Millennium Edition*:
Microsoft Windows 2000*:
Windows XP*: Start / All Programs / Intel(R) Application Accelerator / Intel(R) Application Accelerator
Windows* 2000/Me/98/NT 4.0: Start / Programs / Intel(R) Application Accelerator / Intel(R) Application AcceleratorIf the Intel Application Accelerator is installed correctly, the diagnostic utility will open.
If you see an error message that says that the driver was not detected and to verify that the driver is properly installed, the Intel Application Accelerator did not install properly.
If there is no listing for Intel Application Accelerator in the Programs menu, then it is not installed, or it was installed using an install switch that prevented installation of the diagnostic utility.

Here is a brief explanation of each setting:
Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 add support for 48-bit LBA; please contact Microsoft* for additional information. Otherwise, in order to enable support for hard drives that are larger than 137GB, you will need to install the Intel(R) Application Accelerator or install a 3rd party 48-bit LBA controller card.
BIOS support
Windows XP, Windows 2000: 48-bit LBA BIOS support is not necessary
Windows Me, Windows 98SE, and Windows 98: If your BIOS does not currently support 48-bit LBA, you will need to obtain an updated BIOS from your motherboard or system manufacturer.
System configuration
In order for your system to recognize hard drives that are larger than 137GB, use one of the following configurations:
Large drive as primary drive (boot drive)
Large drive as secondary drive
Uninstallation information
If you uninstall the Intel Application Accelerator, you will not be able to access any data located in the 48-bit LBA region (above 137GB). Uninstalling the Intel Application Accelerator removes the 48-bit support that was previously enabled.
If you experience instability issues after removing the Intel Application Accelerator from a hard drive larger than 137GB, this may be because applications were previously installed in the upper 48-bit LBA region. If no other hard drive changes were made to any existing partitions, you should be able to reinstall the Intel Application Accelerator in order to correct these issues. After the Intel Application Accelerator is reinstalled, you should once again be able to access the data in the upper 48-bit LBA region.
1 Mobile chipset support is included in version 2.2.2 of the software; it is not included in version 2.2.3.
After the upgrade, there will still be a shortcut to the IntelŽ Application Accelerator located under Start / Programs but clicking on the shortcut will result in an error message because the driver is no longer loaded. Any attempts to uninstall the Intel Ultra ATA Storage Driver after the upgrade may result in an error message after the system has been rebooted.
After Windows XP is installed, you can reinstall the Intel Application Accelerator.
