Intel is announcing the End-of-Interactive Support (EOIS) for the Intel® TelePort Extender software. Intel no longer provides interactive support for this software via telephone, e-mail, chat, Community or other tools.

Installation and use
Can I make calls from my computer?

No, the call features are limited to silencing calls only. All outgoing and incoming calls require the use of your phone.


How do I connect my mobile phone or tablet to the computer?

These items are required to connect your phone or tablet to the computer:

  • Intel® TelePort Extender app must be installed on each mobile device.
  • Intel TelePort Extender software must be installed on the computer.
  • The computer and devices must be on the same wireless network.

How to connect a device to the computer when pairing for the first time:

  1. From the computer, launch Intel TelePort Extender app.
  2. From the mobile device, tap the Intel TelePort Extender to open the app.
  3. From the mobile device, select the computer name to start the connection.
    • A six-digit PIN displays on the computer and mobile device.
  4. Verify the PIN on the mobile device matches the computer, and select Yes on mobile device.
  5. Select Accept on the computer screen to start the connection.
Note The PIN pairing process is only required the first time a device connects to a specific computer.

How to connect a device to the computer after it has already been paired:
  1. From the computer, launch Intel TelePort Extender.
  2. From the mobile device, tap on Intel TelePort Extender to open the app.
  3. From the mobile device, select the computer name to establish connection.

How to check if software is already installed on your computer

Follow these steps on your Windows 7* computer:

  1. Click Start, type "Intel TelePort Extender" in the Search box.
  2. Open All Programs, and look for the "Intel TelePort Extender" program folder.
    • If this folder displays, the software is installed on your computer.

Why do I see more than one computer on my mobile device?

There can be multiple computers running Intel® TelePort Extender on the same wireless network. All computers with Intel Teleport Extender software installed, display on the mobile device.


Can more than one phone be connected at the same time?

While multiple phones can be paired with the same computer, only one phone can connect to the computer at a given time.

Intel® TelePort Extender app allows you to share your smartphone texting and key features securely and conveniently with your computer.

  • Use your computer keyboard and monitor for easier SMS text messaging.
  • See incoming calls and redirect to voicemail even when your phone is not right at hand.
  • Easy visual pairing with automatic reconnection.
  • Secure encrypted Wi-Fi connection between devices keeps your texting, caller, and contact info safe and private.
  • Connect many phones to one computer, or many computers to one phone.

Requirements:

  • Host computer:
    • Intel® processor-based computer with Windows* 7 operating system.
    • Intel TelePort Extender software installed.
  • Mobile device:
    • Android* phone with version 2.2 or later.
    • Intel TelePort Extender app installed on the Android phone (available through your App Store).
  • Network:
    • Wi-Fi connectivity enabled on all devices.
    • Host computer and mobile device must be connected to the same wireless network.

I cannot see any computers on my mobile device

If you do not see any computers on your mobile device:

  • Make sure the Intel® TelePort Extender software is installed and running on the computer.
  • Check to see that both the mobile device and the computer with Intel TelePort Extender software are connected to the same wireless network.
