In This Release 
================

Intel(R) EMGD VBIOS is designed specifically to support the unique GRAPHICS 
requirements of embedded applications for Intel(R) embedded processor based 
platforms with integrated graphics capability.  

This release contains components for:
1) INTEL_EMGD_BYT_VB_<REL>_36.2.9_xxxx.exe
   EMGD VBIOS 

   Note: <REL> = release type either EC, ALPHA, BETA or PRODUCTION
         XXXX  = build version number.

2) RELNOTES.txt


Supported Processors
====================
Target system must contain one of the following Intel Chipsets/Processors:

    Intel(R) Atom(TM) Processor E3800 Product Family,
    Intel(R) Celeron(R) Processor N2807/ N2930/ J1900

Please check with your system provider to determine the Intel Processor/ Chipset 
used in your system. 


Supported environment and required utilities
============================================
This version of VBIOS supports the following environment:

    - EDKII BIOS with CSM (Compatibility Support Module) offer by
      IBV (Independent BIOS Vendor) as such AMI*, Insyde*, 
      Nanjing Byosoft* and Phoenix*. Please contact your IBV
      for more detail. 

    - BMP (BIOS Modification Program) tool for VBIOS configuraiton. 
      Available at VIP (https://platformsw.intel.com) Kit#57305 or latest 
	  available kit.
  

IMPORTANT: Features/ Limitations/ Known Issues

Features:
=========
This release contains the following features/ limitations which are the accumulation from 
the previous releases (e.g. where MR1 will contains all the past features of MR, Gold2 and 
Gold1):
 
Gold 1:
 - CLONE display mode.
 - EDKII BIOS support.
 - EDID-less support on CRT and EFP.
 - Bug fixes. Please refer to Spec Update (Specification Update) for more detail.

Gold 2
 - All feature listed in Gold 1
 - Display ID
 - Bug Fixes, Please refer to Spec Update (Specification Update) for more detail.
 - The definition of int15 AX=5F36 has been changed. Please refer to reference document.
 - WEC 7 configuration support is added using BMP. Please refer to BMP/VBT 
   User's Guide addendum for more detail.

Maintenance Release 1:
 - support EDID-less with Active Dongle only.

Maintenance Release 2:
 - Supports display detection capability
 - Supports Fixed timing on EFP display 
 - Bug fixes. Please refer to Spec Update (Specification Update) for more detail.

Maintenance Release 3:
 - Supports D0 stepping
 - Bug fixes. Please refer to Spec Update (Specification Update) for more detail.
 
 Maintenance Release 4:
 - No new feature included other than bug fix.
 - Bug fixes. Please refer to Spec Update (Specification Update) for more detail.

Workaround in this release
======================================================================

Limitations:
============
    - HDMI is running at low link speed. Higher resolution will not be supported requiring
      high link speed.
    - This Legacy VBIOS should only merge with the 32bit EDKII SBIOS only but NOT
      with the 64bit EDKII SBIOS.


Known Issues:
=============
    - Please refer to the Spec Update of the VBIOS release for more 
      detailed information about the VBIOS known sightings and possible
      resolutions. The Spec Update can be obtained from IBL/CDI.

Getting Started Installation Instructions
=========================================
=============
Configuration
=============
One will need the BMP tool to configure the VBIOS.
The latest supported BMP tool and it's respective BMP user's guide is 
available at location mentioned at "Supported environment" section. 

Refer to the VIP latest available for the BMP and BMP user's guide.

Installation
============
After configuring the VBIOS, one will need to merge the VBIOS into your
respective BIOS through the identified IBV's respective merging utility
and their merging tool's user's guide.
 
Please refer to your IBV for more detail of the VBIOS merging utility. 

One will need to refresh the merged BIOS into your system for execution.
