This package can be updated using the following method:
 - The embedded EFI shell


To Update from the embedded EFI Shell

update system firmware from Intel server EFI shell by the following steps:
- Download Intel server system firmware update package from support.intel.com
- Unzip package and copy all files to a folder in USB disk on key 
- Insert USB disk on key to server USB port
- Reboot server to EFI shell
- Run command "map -r" in EFI shell to mount USB disk on key
- Run command "fs0:" to change folder to USB disk on key, USB key may also mount to
  fs1:. The number of "fs" is dependent on the result of command "map -r"
- Change folder to the folder storing the firmware package
- Run command "startup.nsh" to start firmware update process

Please refer to "EFI_Instructions.pdf" in this firmware package for a quick guide to 
use the of EFI commands

                       KNOWN ISSUES/WORKAROUNDS/LIMITATIONS

If you want to update an older version of BIOS previous to R0029, follow the 
following steps.
    - Put the system into force update mode (put J3D1 to Pin 1 and2) and boot
    - Flash the BIOS using iflash tool from EFI Shell
    - Remove AC power 
    - Put the jumper back into Normal mode. (put J3D1 to pin 2 and 3 )
    - Power on the system

Note:

BIOS R27 fixed below issues
-   L1 and L2 Cache size is wrong on E7420 Processors.
-   BIOS setup is slow with four 7400 series Processors.
-   USB mouse and keyboard detected if USB is disabled
-   WinPE boot issue from USB flash disk.	
-   System displays ES1000 BIOS message during pOST and 
-   Event log in windows Displays PPM disabled Error Event
-   CPU signature in MP configuration Table is incorrect for 7400 series processors
-   Extended Table Checksum in MP Configuration Table Header is incorrect
-   State Hint is Disabled as per Wolfdale BWGo.92 on 7400 series processors.
-   StopGrant Ack Count is incorrectly Programming for 7400 series processors.
-   PECI feature was enabled incorrect on 7400 series Processor.
-   MCH BIOS Spec Update rev0.83

BIOS R25 fixed below issues 
- Sony AD-7560A DVD drive did not consistently appear in the BIOS setup 
- Unable to update SAS Riser to HW RAID using Dual Mode Firmware Update 
- L3 cache not displayed in BIOS setup and SMBIOS.
- Fatal error injected on slot1-6 did not generate Windows 2008 crash"
- Intel(R) Xeon(R) Processor 7400 series CPUID reporting only lower 16 bits in BIOS Setup 
- Thermal margin sensors not working with Intel(R) Xeon(R) Processor 7400 serious setup.

- POST screen hand incorrectly displayed line while BMC jumper is in force update mode.

- Added Setup option to enable/disable USB device promoting to top of Boot Order.
- Modify behavior of Global Fault LED for correctable errors

- Resolved the problem of WHQL TCG TPM Integration test failure
- Corrected the issue of PCIE slot 7 slowdown from X4 to X1
- Resolve the issue of performance of Quad Core Intel(R) Xeon(R) Processor 7300 
  Series drops sharply
- Fixed the copyright problem on BIOS POST screen
- Corrected the issue that date is shown incorrectly after 2008.1.1
- Fixed the voltage issue in SMBIOS Type 4
- Fixed the issue that Intel(R) Deployment Assistant CD may fail to boot up
- corrected the issue of BIOS admin password can't be set on 501 board
- Corrected SMBIOS Type 17 DIMM size for Memory Board A and B DIMM 1 
- Corrected DIMM LED behavior when memory RAS is disabled and an uncorrectable error occurs.
- Corrected IOAT is disabled at MFG mode 
- Corrected an WHEA error record issue.
- Corrected inconsistent SEL entries when memory mirroring is set and an uncorrectable 
  error occurs. 
- Added support for Microsoft* Windows* 2003 network installation with the SAS riser. 
- SAS Riser OPROM can be entered during POST now.
- Corrected support for Adaptec* ASC-29320LPE adapter so it will complete POST in slot 7.  
- Corrected the problem of unable to enter LSI* 1078 SAS RAID Web BIOS interface by pressing 
  [Ctrl]+[H]
- Corrected an WHEA error record issue.
- Per Chipset BIOS Specification Update: Added support for Documentation Changes #2.
- Per Chipset BIOS Specification Update: Snoop Filter enable/disable was removed from BIOS 
  setup.
