        GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
       --

SSEDIT.EXE is a track editor for Slicks 'N' Slide.
With it you can easily create and modify tracks and
        make routes for computer opponents.

You are not allowed to distribute the track editor. It comes
ONLY with the registered version of Slicks 'N' Slide.

SSEDIT should run without problems in every computer
but the computer driver tester needs about 600 kB free
        conventional memory.

Copy the track editor to the same directory than the game itself.
        It needs the following files:
        - SLICKS.DAT for track blocks
        - SLICKS.REK - registration key file. You will get this when you buy the full game.

        ABOUT THE TRACKS
       --

Tracks consist of track pieces. They can be easily placed to the
        track using mouse and SSEDIT.

The game uses CHECK POINTs to control your driving. Check
points make possible to count laps.

To make routes for computer drivers, set COMPUTER POINTs.
Computer drivers try to round the track following those points.

Tracks are composed of track blocks. There will be more track
blocks in the future but old tracks will work with the
new versions of the game, too.

        NEW Add one track block.
Left button of the mouse sets the block above
the others and right button of the mouse puts it
                       below the other pieces.

                       once).

       --
        CHECK POINTS MODE
       --

The game controls laps using CHECK POINTs. You have to go
by pass every point if you want the game accepts your lap.

It's better to make check points so large that no one can pass
        them inadvertently.

        NEW Add one check point

INSERT Insert one check point between the previously ones

        EDIT Modify check point

DEL SELECTED Delete selected check point

DEL LAST Delete the last check point

DEL ALL Delete every check points

       --
        COMPUTER POINTS MODE
       --

COMPUTER POINTs are for computer opponents to make possible
them to round the track within limited time.

Computer opponents drive towards next COMPUTER POINT until
        they reach current EFFECT AREA.

When the computer opponent has reached the area, it starts to
drive towards next point until it has passed every point.

To add a computer point, define first the effect area.
After doing that, place the target point.

        NEW Add one computer point.

INSERT Insert one computer point between the others.

EDIT Edit a previously added computer point.

DEL SELECTED Delete seleceted computer point.

DEL LAST Delete the last computer point.

DEL ALL Delete every computer points.

       --
        PANIC POINTS MODE
       --

PANIC POINTs help computer opponents to get out of jamming
situations faster. If a computer driver cannot reach the
computer point, it try to drive to the nearest panic point.
If it fails to do so (or if there is no panic points),
it drives randomly for a while.

It's not necessary to use panic points in the track any more.

        NEW Add one panic point.

DEL LAST Delete the last panic point.

DEL SELECTED Delete selected panic point.

        HINTS AND TIPS
       --

Make the track first. Add grass and other things later.

Best way to add grass or sand is using right mouse button.
It puts them below the other objects.

It's worth putting some barrier to the ends of the finish
line. The other way is to put finish line pieces under the
           grass.

	  Limits:
             Track pieces: 1500
             Moving/animated track pieces: 100
             Check points: 100
             Computer points: 300
             Panic points: 100

Animated/moving objects slow down the game noticeably.
Use them as few as possible.

Test tracks carefully before releasing :-O
