  Cheetahs live alone, though cubs
remain with their mother for a year
and a half after birth. Watching
her, the cubs learn to hunt and to
protect their food from vultures and
hyenas. The cheetah on the right is a
king cheetah, a variation within the
cheetah %F,10,..\h\species%species. King cheetahs have
larger, blotchy spots.
