1993 - Adriatic Sea
As the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina continued to deteriorate, the
United States and its allies debated the role the U.N. would play as
peacemaker. The United States had been escorting merchant convoys bound
for Bosnia into a Yugoslavian port just south of Croatia and
Bosnia/Herzegovina. The Yugoslavian and Croatian governments guaranteed
safe passage to all relief convoys.
