Mission #5:
April 14. The United States will begin an attack on Libya in approximately
30 minutes. Use your sensors to detect any new targets in the area.

Background: At 1736 hours, 24 F-111 fighter-bombers and five EF-111 Raven
radar-jamming craft left on a 5,000 nautical-mile round trip to Tripoli
via the Strait of Gibraltar. Radio silence was kept during the four
refuelings throughout the night. Six F-111s and one EF-111 turned back for
England after the first refueling. Three F-111s and their tanker escorts
veered off the designated flight pattern in an attempt to make up twelve
minutes of lost time due to refueling problems. In doing so, they violated
the Algerian and Tunisian air space. The air fleet was reportedly detected
on French, Portuguese and Spanish radar, but nothing was said. About
thirty minutes before the U.S. attack on Libya began, officials on the
island of Malta informed Libya that unidentified aircraft had passed
through Italy unannounced and were on a course for North Africa.
