USS Reid and USS Robert G Bradley Intercept Two Iraqi Tankers: 18 August 
1990
Mission #1:  
August 18. Two Iraqi tankers have been reported in the area. Intercept 
them and scare them off.

Background:  The USS Reid and the USS Robert G Bradley confronted tankers 
in enemy waters. The USS Reid intercepted the Iraqi tanker Khanaquin in 
the Gulf of Oman to check for prohibited cargo. The Robert G Bradley 
intercepted a second tanker as well. Warning shots were fired at both 
vessels.

USS Brewton and HMAS Darwin Intercept the Al-Fao:  14 September 1990
Mission #2:  
September 14. Intercept and destroy the Iraqi-tanker Al-Fao in the Gulf of
Oman.

Background:  The USS Brewton and the HMAS Darwin jointly intercepted and 
boarded the Iraqi tanker Al-Fao in the Gulf of Oman. Both ships had fired 
warning shots across the bow of the tanker before she stopped for 
inspection. No prohibited cargo was found on board the Al-Fao.
