In this simulation, as in real life, all of the data received by your
ship's sensors is routed into the Combat Information Center. In the CIC,
the sensor data is processed and analyzed using the AEGIS fire control
computers and software. Threats and contacts are displayed on four huge
display walls that give the Captain a top-down view of the situation
around him. This is where the power of the Ticonderoga cruiser really
shines. Not only is the data from the ship's own sensors routed to the
AEGIS system, but the data from other ships or even aircraft can be
incorporated into the AEGIS global picture. Decisions on which weapon or
defensive system to employ can be made and evaluated to give the ship the
maximum amount of time to select the right defense for the ship and the
fleet.
