Missiles: Missiles are fired by surface ships and aircraft. Missiles at
your disposal are the Standard Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM), Tomahawk
Surface-to-Surface Missile (SSM) and the Harpoon (SSM). Remember that once
missiles are fired they cannot be retrieved, and you have no at-sea
replenishment for your missiles.

Torpedoes: A torpedo is essentially a water-based missile and is the
weapon of choice in battles between submarines and surface ships. Your
ship is equipped with the ASROC anti-submarine torpedo. Judicious use of
your ASROCs will keep all but the foolish sub skippers at bay. Launch this
torpedo when you detect an enemy submarine within firing range.

Automatic Defensive Systems: The Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) is a
defensive system that can be used in automatic (or defensive) mode to
shoot down incoming missiles. Once activated in automatic mode, the CIWS
will only stop firing when all incoming threats are destroyed. Although
the CIWS can protect your ship, you must have foresight enough to select
this weapon system when the threat situation warrants it. When you detect
heavy air attacks, you will probably want to prepare for a barrage of
missiles by turning on the CIWS.
Deck Guns: Your deck guns are best used for small targets such as
slow-moving aircraft and patrol boats.
