one target during the missions in the simulation. Battles in AEGIS
demonstrate the challenge of modern naval warfare and the extensive
training required to succeed on the field of battle.

Patrol or Terrorist Boats
Terrorist boats are typically comprised of small fiberglass hulls with an
outboard motor, and are almost invisible to radar until they are close
enough to engage by small arms fire. Consider the number and type of
threats around you when determining how to handle these small boats. The
most powerful weapons these small boats can carry are shoulder-launched
light anti-tank rockets. Man the 5-inch deck guns at all times when you
face this threat. Normally patrol and terrorist boats must stay close to
shore due to limited fuel capacity, but they also can be launched from a
mother ship.

Warships
Warships must be given the greatest respect. Their weapons can be fired
from a great distance and still hit you. Prior intelligence, gained by
studying James' Warbook, will alert you to the ships each country has at
its disposal. Most countries don't have dedicated "blue water," or deep
water, navies. However, those countries that do have an extensive naval
fleet can challenge the weapon systems of your vessel. "Brown water," or
shallow water, operations demand that you be aware not only of the ability
of the enemy's naval units, but also of the land-based air force
capability.
