weapon. As an example, the fore Standard missile weapon site is locked to
ID H_150, and you click on target ID H_002 in the target grid. This causes
the information for H_002 to be displayed in the hooked data box as the
currently hooked target in the target grid, but that target is not locked
on by the Standard missile weapon system. Next, you click on the fore
Standard missile weapon site's "FIRE" button. The launched missile will be
aimed at target H_150, as you have not changed the locked status for that
target at that weapon site. To have no targets hooked, you can click in
the target grid space. If no information is displayed in the hooked target
data box, there are no hooked targets.

NOTES: The CIWS weapon arc is 170 degrees perpendicular to the
ship's line. The forward 5-inch gun has a 240-degree arc, 120 degrees to
each side of the ship. The aft gun has a 200-degree arc, 100 degrees to
each side. If the ship is broadside to a target, both guns may be able to
fire, depending on the range.

All weapon systems will fire one round and return to "SAFE" except the
CIWS and the 5-inch gun. The CIWS and the 5-inch gun will continue to fire
at their locked targets until:

  the ammunition runs out
  the target is destroyed
target lock is lost (out of range or weapon arc) or
the player selects "SAFE" (or closes the cover on the 5-inch gun)
