CYBER LIE:
Abortionists are simply removing inconsequential tissue.
PARAPHRASE:
God knows who we are and what He wants us to become, even before
conception.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that my parents had nothing to do with my birth?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that something was wrong with me that God had to fix.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that God made my parts someplace else and just assembled
them in my mother?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that I was really created by God?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Many people today disagree about when we become a person and not just
tissue attached to our mother. What really matters is what God says!
He tells us He knew us even before He formed us in our mother's womb.
VERSE:
Jeremiah 1:5a - I knew you before you were formed within your
mother's womb; before you were born I sanctified you...

#18
CYBER LIE:
It's possible to get away with sin if you're really careful.
VERSE:
Jeremiah 16:17 - For I am closely watching you and I see every sin.
You cannot hope to hide from me.

#19
CYBER LIE:
Famines are ALWAYS just an act of nature.
VERSE:
Ezekiel 14:12-13 - Then this message of the Lord came to me: "Son of
dust, if the people of a land sin against me, then I will crush them
with my fist, break off their food supply, and send famine to destroy
both man and beast."

#20
CYBER LIE:
God has no power, He's a wimp!
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean God's on a power trip?
WRONG GUESS:
Angels are in big trouble because God just wants to push them around.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that we can't ask God questions?
CORRECT GUESS:
I guess this means that God knows better than we do.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Here in the Book of Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar gives praise to the
true King, God Himself, as he realizes just how far God is above
anything else. God is truly supreme.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
I'm not sure that even God is stronger than those cybers out there.
VERSE:
Daniel 4:35 - All the people of the earth are nothing when compared
to him; he does whatever he thinks best among the angels of heaven,
as well as here on earth. No one can stop him or challenge him,
saying, "What do you mean by doing these things?"

#21
CYBER LIE:
Undressing someone in your mind isn't committing adultery.
VERSE:
Matthew 5:27-28 - The laws of Moses said, 'You shall not commit
adultery.' But I say: Anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in
his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

#22
CYBER LIE:
It's okay to hold on to grudges.
PARAPHRASE:
If you want to be forgiven, you have to forgive.
WRONG GUESS:
This must mean I can't be forgiven.
WRONG GUESS:
The Bible says only God can forgive sins!
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that God blackmails us?
CORRECT GUESS:
I guess this means that I need to have a forgiving heart.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
This is another time in scripture when Jesus was teaching something
very basic. We must forgive in the same way that God forgives. If
we don't, we're just telling God not to forgive us. He wants us to
be like Jesus and to treat others as He does.
VERSE:
Matthew 6:14,15 - Your heavenly Father will forgive you if you
forgive those who sin against you; but if you refuse to forgive them,
he will not forgive you.

#23
CYBER LIE:
Only people who lived in Jesus' town and saw Him do miracles would
believe in Him.
VERSE:
Matthew 13:57 - And they became angry with him! Then Jesus told
them, "A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own country, and
among his own people!"

#24
CYBER LIE:
When another Christian sins against you, you should immediately call
your prayer group and tell all of them to pray for him.
VERSE:
Matthew 18:15 - If a brother sins against you, go to him privately
and confront him with his fault. If he listens and confesses it, you
have won back a brother.

CYBER LIE:
Heaven is full of virgins waiting to have sex with you.
VERSE:
Matthew 22:30 - For in the resurrection there is no marriage;
everyone is as the angels in heaven.

#26
CYBER LIE:
God is unjust, because there's no way everyone will ever hear the
Gospel.
VERSE:
Matthew 24:14 - And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached
throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it, and
then, finally, the end will come.

#27
CYBER LIE:
Real Christians never get depressed.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus was a depressed person, in need of psychiatric help.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus was very insecure.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus was afraid of death.
CORRECT GUESS:
It sounds like Jesus felt many of the same things we do.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God wants us to realize that He isn't off someplace detached and
without any feelings. In this verse, Jesus shows His feelings as He
is aware that soon He will be taking our sins upon Himself and going
to the cross. As Christians, we need to stay awake and never forget
what He has done.
VERSE:
Matthew 26:38 - Then he told them, "My soul is crushed with horror
and sadness to the point of death --- stay here --- stay awake with
me."

#28
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
I don't think that God's even aware of me. I'd bet that he doesn't
even know that I've gone bald from worry.
PARAPHRASE:
From insignificant matters to the important aspects of our lives, God
is aware of everything that happens in us and to us.
VERSE:
Luke 12:6-7a - What is the price of five sparrows? A couple of
pennies? Not much more than that. Yet God does not forget a single
one of them. And he knows the number of hairs on your head!

#29
CYBER LIE:
He who dies with the most toys wins.
VERSE:
Luke 12:20 - But God said to him, 'Fool! Tonight you die. Then who
will get it all?'

#30
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
But you don't understand! When I left God, He rejected me and now
He'll never take me back, even if I repent.
WRONG GUESS:
Once the son sinned he was his father's slave.
WRONG GUESS:
The father really didn't care that the son had sinned. He must have
thought sin was okay.
WRONG GUESS:
If you're going to sin, don't let God catch you.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that we get these special shoes when we get to heaven?
CORRECT GUESS:
It looks like the father was willing to forgive quickly.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
When we repent and turn to God, we may be overcome with guilt over
the evil things that we have done. God, however, is quick to forgive
us and is overjoyed by our arrival. We should never stay away from
God because we think that He won't forgive us. His love and mercy
are greater than we can imagine.
VERSE:
Luke 15:21-22 - And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned
against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called
your son.' "But his father said to the slaves, 'Quick! Bring the
finest robe in the house and put it on him. And a jeweled ring for
his finger; and shoes!'"

#31
CYBER LIE:
Jesus was a lunatic. All Christians are insane.
VERSE:
John 10:20-21 - Some of them said, "He has a demon or else is crazy.
Why listen to a man like that?" Others said, "This doesn't sound to
us like a man possessed by a demon! Can a demon open the eyes of
blind men?"

#32
CYBER LIE:
Don't read the Bible, it won't help you.
PARAPHRASE:
The Word of God opens the way to salvation.
WRONG GUESS:
Righteousness is something that is written about but cannot be
attained.
WRONG GUESS:
Gentiles are second class in the things of God.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that anyone who has this thing called faith will never
die of old age?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that the words of God and trusting in His words will
give me spiritual life?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God tells us in the Bible that His Word is actually alive. The Word
brought God's creation into existence. Trusting in His Word brings
us into His presence. Faith in His Word brings us to salvation and
everlasting life.
VERSE:
Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ.
It is God's powerful method of bringing all who believe it to heaven.
This message was preached first to the Jews alone, but now everyone
is invited to come to God in this same way.

#33

Everybody is going to hell.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that we fall down before God?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that sinners can't walk?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that everybody has done wrong things?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God wants us to realize that you and I and everyone else are sinners
and don't measure up to what we should be. The fact is, none of us
measure up at all. But God has provided a means of forgiveness and
cleansing: Jesus!
VERSE:
Romans 3:23 - Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious
ideal,

parts and members of Christ? So should I take part of Christ and
join him to a prostitute? Never!

#35
CYBER LIE:
God won't give you faith!
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
I don't have enough faith, and how can I make myself believe if I
don't have faith to begin with?
VERSE:
Ephesians 2:8 - Because of his kindness, you have been saved through
trusting Christ. And even trusting is not of yourselves; it too is a
gift from God.

#36
VERSE:
Ephesians 6:16 - In every battle you will need faith as your shield
to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.

#37
VERSE:

he will use to conquer all else everywhere.

#40
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
But God just doesn't care about me! I'm on my own here, so I have to
watch out for myself.
VERSE:
1 Peter 5:7 - Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is
always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

that He will care for us and protect us. He's always looking for new
ways to help His people.
VERSE:
2 Chronicles 16:9a - For the eyes of the Lord search back and forth
across the whole earth, looking for people whose hearts are perfect
toward him, so he can show his great power in helping them.

CYBER LIE:
Satan threw God off of His throne, and now rules the universe.
PARAPHRASE:
God is above all, and rules from heaven.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that God is isolated?
WRONG GUESS:
Does that mean that God just sits there doing nothing?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that God is far away, and isn't relevant to my life?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that God is still in charge, even if things seem messed
up down here?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
As we go through our lives, we may often wonder whether God has lost
control. Good things happen to us, bad things happen to us, we ask
"Why me?" Sometimes we don't seem to have the answers, but through
it all God is still on His throne, His WILL will be done in the end,
and He hasn't forgotten us.
VERSE:
Psalms 11:4a - But the Lord is still in his holy temple; he still
rules from heaven.

#08
VERSE:
Psalms 119:105 - Your words are a flashlight to light the path ahead
of me and keep me from stumbling.

#09
VERSE:
Psalms 141:9 - Keep me out of their traps.

#10
CYBER LIE:
God is only interested in strong, powerful people that He can use,
but He doesn't really care if they put their hope in Him.
PARAPHRASE:
God is not impressed with people's strength or power, but He really
enjoys those who put their trust in Him.
VERSE:
Psalms 147:10-11 - The speed of a horse is nothing to him. How puny
in his sight is the strength of a man. But his joy is in those who
reverence him, those who expect him to be loving and kind.

#11
CYBER LIE:
Having "understanding" or "discretion" isn't going to keep you from
ending up evil, just like all of the other creeps.
PARAPHRASE:
God will give you good sense and understanding that will protect you
from becoming evil.
VERSE:
Proverbs 2:11-12 - You will be given the sense to stay away from evil
men who want you to be their partners in crime--men who turn from
God's ways to walk down dark and evil paths

#12
CYBER LIE:
Giving in to sexual immorality won't hurt you!
VERSE:
Proverbs 6:26 - For a prostitute will bring a man to poverty, and an
adulteress may cost him his very life.

#13
CYBER LIE:
Don't bring more children into an unsafe world, God's not going to
protect them.
PARAPHRASE:
When you live your life for God, you will find safety and your
children will also be safe and secure.
VERSE:
Proverbs 14:26 - Reverence for God gives a man deep strength; his
children have a place of refuge and security.

#14
CYBER LIE:
Drink all the booze you want; it won't effect you.
PARAPHRASE:
People who drink too much are fools.
VERSE:
Proverbs 20:1 - Wine gives false courage; hard liquor leads to
brawls; what fools men are to let it master them, making them reel
drunkenly down the street!

#15
CYBER LIE:
Sometimes you have to sacrifice your health to gain wealth.
PARAPHRASE:
Use good wisdom, don't strive for riches.
VERSE:
Proverbs 23:4 - Don't weary yourself trying to get rich. Why waste
your time? For riches can disappear as though they had the wings of
a bird!

#16
CYBER LIE:
People never act bad just because they decide to act bad, it's always
their environment.
PARAPHRASE:
Evil people often do not turn away from their wickedness. Even when
they are shown kindness, they do not acknowledge the supremacy and
goodness of God.
VERSE:
Isaiah 26:10 - Your kindness to the wicked doesn't make them good;
they keep on doing wrong and take no notice of your majesty.

#17
CYBER LIE:
Jesus came to steal from the poor people, put them in jail and to
make people feel bad.
PARAPHRASE:
God anointed Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit to bring the good news
of salvation, healing, comfort and freedom to all who believe in Him.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that God is always on Jesus' back?
WRONG GUESS:
Was this the start of some sort of Peace group? Or Save the
Hippopotamus, or some other group like that?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that God doesn't care about regular people?
CORRECT GUESS:
It sounds like God really does care about us, especially in our
difficulties.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
This is the same scripture that Jesus used when He went to the
synagogue in Nazareth. At that time He made the claim that this
scripture was fulfilled. When Jesus came into the world, He
fulfilled all of God's plans. We can look to Jesus for all of the
needs in our lives.
VERSE:
Isaiah 61:1 - The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord
has anointed me to bring good news to the suffering and afflicted.
He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted, to announce liberty to
captives, and to open the eyes of the blind.

#18
CYBER LIE:
God gets a kick out of killing bad people.
PARAPHRASE:
The Lord desires for the wicked to turn from their evil ways and does
not take delight in their death.
WRONG GUESS:
It sounds like God doesn't care if people are bad or not.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that only the wicked people will die?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that everyone in Israel is bad?
CORRECT GUESS:
This sounds to me like God wants His People to stop sinning.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God's desire is that all people would turn back from their wickedness
and return to Him. This death is not one of the body only, but also
is separation from God. God wants us to repent, in other words, turn
around and go away from those evil things.
VERSE:
Ezekiel 33:11 - Tell them: 'As I live, says the Lord God, I have no
pleasure in the death of the wicked; I desire that the wicked turn
from his evil ways and live. Turn, turn from your wickedness, for
why will you die, O Israel?

#19
CYBER LIE:
People's actions can't avert God's wrath once He's pronounced it.
PARAPHRASE:
When God saw the Ninevites repent of their sinfulness, He forgave
them and did not carry through with His plan to destroy them.
VERSE:
Jonah 3:10 - And when God saw that they had put a stop to their evil
ways, he abandoned his plan to destroy them and didn't carry it
through.

#20
CYBER LIE:
It's okay to step on people who are already down.
PARAPHRASE:
Do not think unkindly against or look down upon people who are in
less fortunate situations.
VERSE:
Zechariah 7:10 - Tell them to stop oppressing widows and orphans,
foreigners and poor people, and to stop plotting evil against each
other.

#21
CYBER LIE:
Lighten up: There are lots of ways to get to God.
PARAPHRASE:
The road to hell is wide and many go that way since it is easy to
enter, while the way to heaven is difficult and can only be entered
through the narrow gate.
WRONG GUESS:
Many people can go through a large gate.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean not to drive on freeways?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does this mean that God has shown us the only way that we can be
saved and go to heaven to be with Him?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Jesus said "I am the Way ... No one comes to the Father except
through Me." Others have said that there are many "other" ways. The
decision we have to make is whether to trust God or man.
VERSE:
Matthew 7:13 - Heaven can be entered only through the narrow gate!
The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide enough for all the
multitudes who choose its easy way.

#22
CYBER LIE:
If Jesus performed miracles on earth today, then everyone would turn
away from their sins and believe in Him.
PARAPHRASE:
Jesus rebuked those people who saw His miracles and yet did not
repent.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus didn't like the people in the cities.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus called down curses on people because they didn't believe.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus loves only people who have repented.
CORRECT GUESS:
Jesus was upset because these people had seen miracles from God and
they still refused to change.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God even today answers many prayers with miracles. Many give the
credit to the doctors, or fate, or luck, or even themselves. They
refuse to give the credit to God. They refuse to change. Jesus
compared what happened to Sodom as to what will happen to these
people and said it would be much worse if they didn't change.
VERSE:
Matthew 11:20 - Then he began to pour out his denunciations against
the cities where he had done most of his miracles, because they
hadn't turned to God.

#23
CYBER LIE:
Jesus didn't care whether people were hungry or not.
PARAPHRASE:
Jesus didn't want to send those people away hungry who had been with
Him for three days because of His compassion for them.
VERSE:
Matthew 15:32 - Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I
pity these people--they've been here with me for three days now and
have nothing left to eat; I don't want to send them away hungry or
they will faint along the road."

#24
CYBER LIE:
Spiritual leaders need important sounding titles, so that everyone
will know that God has made them "special".
PARAPHRASE:
We shouldn't be impressed with high and lofty titles, only God
deserves our honor and worship.
VERSE:
Matthew 23:8-9 - Don't ever let anyone call you that. For only God
is your Rabbi and all of you are on the same level, as brothers. And
don't address anyone here on earth as 'Father,' for only God in
heaven should be addressed like that.

#25
CYBER LIE:
When Christ returns in the last days, no one is going to notice. It
will happen secretly.
PARAPHRASE:
Jesus Christ will come again like a lightning bolt that shines from
east to west.
VERSE:
Matthew 24:27 - For as the lightning flashes across the sky from east
to west, so shall my coming be, when I, the Messiah, return.

#26
CYBER LIE:
Jesus wasn't the King of the Jews or the Messiah.
PARAPHRASE:
When Pilate asked Jesus whether He was the Messiah (the King of the
Jews), Jesus just said "yes."
VERSE:
Matthew 27:11 - Now Jesus was standing before Pilate, the Roman
governor. "Are you the Jews' Messiah?" the governor asked him.
"Yes," Jesus replied.

#27
CYBER LIE:
Just because you believe in Jesus, that doesn't mean that He has
accepted you into his family.
PARAPHRASE:
Just reach out and let God bring you into His family.
VERSE:
John 1:12 - But to all who received him, he gave the right to become
children of God. All they needed to do was to trust him to save them.

#28
CYBER LIE:
Christians never get arrested or killed for obeying God.
PARAPHRASE:
Those who do not truly know the Father or Jesus Christ will think
that eliminating Christians is a service to God.
VERSE:
John 16:2-3 - For you will be excommunicated from the synagogues, and
indeed the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are
doing God a service. This is because they have never known the
Father or me.

#29
CYBER LIE:
God can't blame you for doing bad stuff: after all, He never really
told you the rules.
PARAPHRASE:
God's law reminds of our sinfulness and keeps us accountable to Him.
WRONG GUESS:
We need to work real hard to be justified under the law.
WRONG GUESS:
Since we are under the law, we're not supposed to talk about it.
WRONG GUESS:
When we know about sin we don't have to worry about what the law says.
CORRECT GUESS:
The laws that God has given us make us aware that we are sinners.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
This scripture teaches us that just the knowledge of God's laws makes
us aware of how far we are from what He wants us to be. No matter
how hard we try, we can never be good enough.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
See, just like I said! Everyone is guilty!
VERSE:
Romans 3:20 - Now do you see it? No one can ever be made right in
God's sight by doing what the law commands. For the more we know of
God's laws, the clearer it becomes that we aren't obeying them; his
laws serve only to make us see that we are sinners.

#30
CYBER LIE:
You can't keep from feeling condemned, even if you're a Christian.
PARAPHRASE:
Jesus Christ brought forth the law of the Spirit of life to free us
from the bondage to sin and death.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
I didn't know becoming a Christian could be that simple. Do you mean
that I never have to feel condemned by God again?
VERSE:
Romans 8:1-2 - So there is now no condemnation awaiting those who
belong to Christ Jesus. For the power of the life-giving Spirit--and
this power is mine through Christ Jesus--has freed me from the
vicious circle of sin and death.

#31
CYBER LIE:
There are all sorts of things that can keep God from loving you.
PARAPHRASE:
Nothing that happens to you will keep God from loving you.
VERSE:
Romans 8:38-39 - For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us
from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels won't, and
all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God's love away. Our fears
for today, our worries about tomorrow, ... nothing will ever be able
to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus
Christ when he died for us.

#32
CYBER LIE:
It doesn't matter what you believe, you still need to obey every last
part of the Old Testament Law.
PARAPHRASE:
The law was to lead us to Christ, but with His arrival, we are no
longer under the supervision of it as long as we have faith in Him.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
The purpose of the Law was to lead us to Christ, not to just make us
feel guilty.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that the Ten Commandments are something God no longer
cares about?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean we need a teacher to find God?
CORRECT GUESS:
I guess this means that the laws in the Old Testament were made to
point us to Jesus.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God put the Law into effect so we could see our wrongs. Imagine what
would happen if the roads we travel had no speed signs, no one would
know the right speed to go. The problem is that people see the signs
and ignore them. God sent Jesus to pay the fine for our disobedience
and our wrongs.
VERSE:
Galatians 3:24-25 - Let me put it another way. The Jewish laws were
our teacher and guide until Christ came to give us right standing
with God through our faith. But now that Christ has come, we don't
need those laws any longer to guard us and lead us to him.

#33
CYBER LIE:
Go ahead and sow seeds of sin; you can repent later and God will take
care of any damage done.
PARAPHRASE:
We must not think that the way that we live will have no effect on
our eternal life.
VERSE:
Galatians 6:7-8 - Don't be misled; remember that you can't ignore God
and get away with it: a man will always reap just the kind of crop he
sows! If he sows to please his own wrong desires, he will be
planting seeds of evil and he will surely reap a harvest of spiritual
decay and death; but if he plants the good things of the Spirit, he
will reap the life that the Holy Spirit gives him.

#34
VERSE:
Ephesians 6:16 - In every battle you will need faith as your shield
to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.

#35
VERSE:
Ephesians 6:17b - the sword of the Spirit--which is the Word of God.

#36
CYBER LIE:
Look out for number one: you're the only person that matters in the
whole world.
PARAPHRASE:
God wants us to think about others and not just focus on ourselves.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that I should never think of myself?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean I'm worthless, everyone is better than me?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that we don't need to get cleaned up to go out with
others?
CORRECT GUESS:
I think that it means that we shouldn't think of ourselves as being
better than anyone else.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Paul was using the life of Jesus as an example to us. He goes on to
say that Jesus made Himself nothing and took on the nature of a
servant, He humbled Himself, even to the point of death on the cross,
and He did this for me and for you.
VERSE:
Philippians 2:3 - Don't be selfish; don't live to make a good
impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than
yourself.

#37
CYBER LIE:
Go to violent, gory, pornographic movies: you're "spiritual", you can
handle it, it's good to think about these things.
PARAPHRASE:
Christians should dwell on whatever is holy and good.
WRONG GUESS:
This must mean that we live by positive thinking only.
WRONG GUESS:
This must mean that it's okay to daydream all the time.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that I just imagine that bad things happen in this
world?
CORRECT GUESS:
It looks like God would rather have me focus on good things rather
than bad things.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Paul is impressing on us here that a man actually changes as he has
good thoughts. Unforgiveness, Anger, Fear, Hate, and many more
things that have controlled us are like a cancer in our spiritual
lives. God wants us to rid ourselves of these and replace them with
Love, Joy, Peace and the like.
VERSE:
Philippians 4:8 - And now, brothers, as I close this letter, let me
say this one more thing: Fix your thoughts on what is true and good
and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on
the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God
for and be glad about.

#38
CYBER LIE:
It doesn't matter if you actually do anything with your life.
PARAPHRASE:
We should continue on in our walk with God, being productive in good
activities, and continuing to learn about God.
VERSE:
Colossians 1:10 - and asking that the way you live will always please
the Lord and honor him, so that you will always be doing good, kind
things for others, while all the time you are learning to know God
better and better.

#39
CYBER LIE:
The Bible never says that Jesus was God.
PARAPHRASE:
Jesus is God!
VERSE:
Colossians 2:9 - For in Christ there is all of God in a human body.

#40
CYBER LIE:
God has a list of all of your sins, and He will never forget them or
forgive you for them.
PARAPHRASE:
While we were still sinners, God forgave us and erased the list of
all of the wrong things that we had done.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
But when Jesus died, God canceled the Law. Jesus had fulfilled all
of the requirements of the Law for us.
VERSE:
Colossians 2:13-14 - You were dead in sins, and your sinful desires
were not yet cut away. Then he gave you a share in the very life of
Christ, for he forgave all your sins, and blotted out the charges
proved against you, the list of his commandments which you had not
obeyed. He took this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to
Christ's cross.

#41
CYBER LIE:
It doesn't matter what you talk about, it won't affect how you live.
PARAPHRASE:
Stay away from indulging in idle talk which leads to sinful behavior.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean it's okay as long as I don't swear more than I do now?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that I can't watch television or listen to the radio?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that we only can talk about Jesus?
CORRECT GUESS:
I think this means that we need to be careful about what we say and
the way we say it.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Paul was warning believers in this group about things that cause
divisions. Believers need to be careful that they are not putting
upon others things that cause quarreling over words. As believers we
need to look to Jesus for the answers in our lives.
VERSE:
2 Timothy 2:16 - Steer clear of foolish discussions that lead people
into the sin of anger with each other.

#42
CYBER LIE:
Don't get mad, get even: show no mercy.
PARAPHRASE:
Be merciful to others if you want to be judged mercifully by God.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that we are going to be judged by the law?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that God will punish me for all the past times I
haven't been kind to others?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that God isn't going to judge the world?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does this mean that God wants me to forgive people, like when Jesus
taught us in the Lord's prayer to say...forgive us AS WE forgive...?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God wants us to use the same set of scales when we deal with others
that we want God to use with us. He says in another place in the
Bible that He wants us to act justly and to love mercy and to walk
humbly with our God. We need to treat people the way we would like
to be treated.
VERSE:
James 2:12-13 - You will be judged on whether or not you are doing
what Christ wants you to.  So watch what you do and what you think;
for there will be no mercy to those who have shown no mercy. But if
you have been merciful, then God's mercy toward you will win out over
his judgment against you.

#43
CYBER LIE:
You don't need to respect or love anybody, even God!
PARAPHRASE:
Be respectful of everyone and give glory and honor to God.
VERSE:
1 Peter 2:17 - Show respect for everyone. Love Christians
everywhere. Fear God and honor the government.

#44
CYBER LIE:
Nothing, not even almighty God, can rescue you from giving into
temptations.
PARAPHRASE:
The Lord delivers His followers from evil and keeps the wicked under
punishment until judgement day.
VERSE:
2 Peter 2:9 - So also the Lord can rescue you and me from the
temptations that surround us, and continue to punish the ungodly
until the day of final judgment comes.

#45
CYBER LIE:
Jesus won't clean you up: you'll always be dirty with sin.
PARAPHRASE:
When we agree with God that we have sinned. He forgives us and makes
us clean.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
Humph! Well, we still have to get rid of sin on our own, God doesn't
help us with THAT!
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that when a person commits a crime and confesses it in
court, God automatically forgives him?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that all we need to do is tell Him we've done bad things?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that confessing our sins makes God faithful and just?
CORRECT GUESS:
It looks like if I have done wrong then I can go to God and tell Him
and He will forgive me.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
The verse before this says that if we claim that we're not sinners,
then we are only deceiving ourselves. Everyone has sinned, and that
includes you and me! God wants us to agree with Him and not hide it.
When we do, He completely forgives us and cleans us up.
VERSE:
1 John 1:9 - But if we confess our sins to him, he can be depended on
to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. (And it is
perfectly proper for God to do this for us because Christ died to
wash away our sins.)

#46
CYBER LIE:
You have to love God first before He'll even consider loving you.
PARAPHRASE:
God loved us much before we were able to love Him. He loved us even
when we were unlovable.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
It's not like we can ever pay God back for our sins. We can't even
really love Him on our own, but He does love us!
WRONG GUESS:
It doesn't matter if we love God.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that God doesn't care if we sin?
WRONG GUESS:
Could that mean that God didn't love Jesus?
CORRECT GUESS:
It sounds like God paid a very high price for the things I have done.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
John makes this statement as he is encouraging all of us. He is
teaching us that we also should love first. God wants us to love
people, and look for the good in them, and lift them. He goes on to
say "since God loved us we ought to love each other."
VERSE:
1 John 4:10 - In this act we see what real love is: it is not our
love for God but his love for us when he sent his Son to satisfy
God's anger against our sins.

#01
CYBER LIE:
God neglects dealing with evil leaders.
VERSE:
Numbers 25:4 - He issued the following command to Moses: "Execute all
the tribal leaders of Israel. Hang them up before the Lord in broad
daylight, so that his fierce anger will turn away from the people."

#02
PARAPHRASE:
We will only be successful when we live our lives God's way.
CYBER LIE:
If you do things God's way, you'll never know success: you'll be a
failure!
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that I must only think about the Bible all day long?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that we better not ever make mistakes?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that we will get lots of money when we obey God?
WRONG GUESS:
Success and prosperity are everything.
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean we will be successful when we live our lives according
to God's way?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
As people who belong to God, we need to think about His principles at
all times. Many people try to live their lives by their own
principles and the result is pain and frustration. As we think and
act as He wants us to, He promises that our lives will change in a
very positive way.
VERSE:
Joshua 1:7b-8 - for if you are careful to obey every one of them you
will be successful in everything you do. Constantly remind the
people about these laws, and you yourself must think about them every
day and every night so that you will be sure to obey all of them.
For only then will you succeed.

#03
CYBER LIE:
Not even God can calm your fear of death.
WRONG GUESS:
Fear is just a state of mind.
WRONG GUESS:
With positive thinking we can change anything.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus must be co-dependant to be around us all the time.
CORRECT GUESS:
Does this mean that I can trust Jesus to be around when I need him?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
As children of God, whenever we are surrounded by fears of any kind,
even the fear for our very life, we can be sure that our Lord is
walking right there with us, to remove any fear, strengthening and
giving us peace. We need to remember that nothing, absolutely
nothing, can separate us from the love of God.
VERSE:
Psalms 23:4 - Even when walking through the dark valley of death I
will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding
all the way.

#04
CYBER LIE:
Wise people need to horde their money.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
Well, I still say "The one who dies with the most toys, wins!"
VERSE:
Psalms 49:10 - Rich man! Proud man! Wise man! You must die like
all the rest! You have no greater lease on life than foolish, stupid
men. You must leave your wealth to others.

#05
VERSE:
Psalms 119:105 - Your words are a flashlight to light the path ahead
of me and keep me from stumbling.

#06
VERSE:
Psalms 141:9 - Keep me out of their traps.

#07
CYBER LIE:
You'll never be popular in school by being kind and truthful.
VERSE:
Proverbs 3:3-5 - Never forget to be truthful and kind. Hold these
virtues tightly. Write them deep within your heart. If you want
favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and
common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don't ever trust
yourself.

#08
CYBER LIE:
It doesn't matter whether you work hard or not.
VERSE:
Proverbs 10:4 - Lazy men are soon poor; hard workers get rich.

#09
CYBER LIE:
Trusting in money makes a man strong.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
You can't trust in wealth to keep you safe and secure.
VERSE:
Proverbs 11:28 - Trust in your money and down you go! Trust in God
and flourish as a tree!

#10
CYBER LIE:
The floods were great! It was months since those bums had had a bath.
VERSE:
Proverbs 17:5 - Mocking the poor is mocking the God who made them.
He will punish those who rejoice at others' misfortunes.

#11
CYBER LIE:
Only wimps try to get out of a fight.
PARAPHRASE:
Saying "No" to a fight doesn't mean that you are a coward, it means
that you are not a fool.
VERSE:
Proverbs 20:3 - It is an honor for a man to stay out of a fight.
Only fools insist on quarreling.

#12
CYBER LIE:
Stuff your face, get drunk! It's just a fun night out. It won't
affect your life.
VERSE:
Proverbs 23:20-21 - don't carouse with drunkards and gluttons, for
they are on their way to poverty. And remember that too much sleep
clothes a man with rags.

#13
CYBER LIE:
As long as you go to church you'll make it to heaven.
VERSE:
Isaiah 29:13 - And so the Lord says, "Since these people say they are
mine but they do not obey me, and since their worship amounts to mere
words learned by rote,"

#14
VERSE:
Isaiah 40:31a - But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their
strength.  They shall mount up with wings like eagles;

#15
CYBER LIE:
God did not care that wicked people would destroy innocent children,
and did nothing to stop it.
VERSE:
Jeremiah 7:31 - They have built the altar called Topheth in the
Valley of Ben-hinnom, and there they burn to death their little sons
and daughters as sacrifices to their gods--a deed so horrible I've
never even thought of it, let alone commanded it to be done.

#16
CYBER LIE:
You only need to serve God when He protects you.
WRONG GUESS:
It means these guys are going to hell.
WRONG GUESS:
These guys were rebels and would not obey the law.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that these guys didn't know if God could help them or
not?
CORRECT GUESS:
I guess it means that they believed and trusted in God no matter what
the outcome was.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Many times when we pray we expect God to answer our prayers our way.
When this doesn't happen we are disappointed. In this Bible story,
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego trusted God so much that it didn't
matter to them how He answered. God always answers us using His
perfect wisdom.
VERSE:
Daniel 3:17-18 - If we are thrown into the flaming furnace, our God
is able to deliver us; and he will deliver us out of your hand, Your
Majesty. But if he doesn't, please understand, sir, that even then
we will never under any circumstance serve your gods or worship the
gold statue you have erected.

#17
PARAPHRASE:
God wants you to be just, merciful, and humble.
CYBER LIE:
God wants you to be just, merciful, and humble, NOT!
WRONG GUESS:
Justice and mercy just come naturally.
WRONG GUESS:
When we walk with God we need to keep our head bowed.
WRONG GUESS:
Justice, mercy, and humility are all God requires of us.
CORRECT GUESS:
Does this mean that the knowledge of how to live has already been
given to me by God?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God explains to us many times in His word that talking about being
good and repenting when we have done wrong is the correct thing to
do. However it is much better if we follow His direction in the
first place. This is what He truly wants for us.
VERSE:
Micah 6:8 - No, he has told you what he wants, and this is all it is:
to be fair, just, merciful, and to walk humbly with your God.

#18
CYBER LIE:
If Jesus was really king of the Jews, He would have entered Jerusalem
on a white stallion with great fanfare.
PARAPHRASE:
Jesus was really the king of the Jews, but He came humbly, without a
lot fanfare.
VERSE:
Zechariah 9:9 - Rejoice greatly, O my people! Shout with joy! For
look--your King is coming! He is the Righteous One, the Victor! Yet
he is lowly, riding on a donkey's colt!

#19
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
Are you sure that God knows what I need?
CYBER LIE:
You've got to provide for yourself; God doesn't know what you need.
VERSE:
Matthew 6:31-32 - So don't worry at all about having enough food and
clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these
things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father
already knows perfectly well that you need them,

#20
CYBER LIE:
It's okay to call on God, but only after you have tried everything
else.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
But if I let go of greed, I won't have any goals to work for. What
would I do with my life? Will He take care of me?
VERSE:
Matthew 6:32b-33 - But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly
well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him
first place in your life and live as he wants you to.

#21
CYBER LIE:
When you're in a jam and don't know what to say; don't expect any
help from God.
WRONG GUESS:
We all are going to be arrested and God is going to bail us out.
WRONG GUESS:
God is going to turn us into ventriloquist dummies.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that we should never make plans when we go somewhere?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that God will be with me, using me for good even in
times of trouble?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
At all times God is with us, but we are given something special when
we face trials because of our walk with Jesus. God promises to be
there and give us the very words to say and how to say them. He says
it will be His Spirit speaking through us.
VERSE:
Matthew 10:19-20 - When you are arrested, don't worry about what to
say at your trial, for you will be given the right words at the right
time. For it won't be you doing the talking--it will be the Spirit
of your heavenly Father speaking through you!

#22
CYBER LIE:
Becoming a Christian just means more work.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus wants us to quit our jobs.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus is anti-business.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus is talking about starting a labor union.
WRONG GUESS:
Is Jesus guaranteeing an early retirement plan?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does this mean that Jesus will help us through trials?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God wants us to realize that when we come to Him, He takes our lives
and transforms them. He is willing to take on Himself the things
that have been so difficult for us.
VERSE:
Matthew 11:28 - Come to me and I will give you rest--all of you who
work so hard beneath a heavy yoke.

#23
CYBER LIE:
Nothing's worth dying for.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus expected His disciples to be crucified with Him.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus is talking about our need to wear those little jewelry crosses.
WRONG GUESS:
Protecting yourself is not what God wants.
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that I need to stop thinking only about myself and think
more about what God's plan is?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Jesus was the greatest example of denying Himself. He left His home
with the Father in Glory and came to earth to live with us. He took
up His cross and carried it. He gave up everything for us. This
verse tells us to do the same type of thing for Him and when we do
we'll find the true way to live.
VERSE:
Matthew 16:24-25 - Then Jesus said to the disciples, "If anyone wants
to be a follower of mine, let him deny himself and take up his cross
and follow me. For anyone who keeps his life for himself shall lose
it; and anyone who loses his life for me shall find it again."

#24
CYBER LIE:
It doesn't matter what you are on the inside, as long as you keep up
your image.
PARAPHRASE:
Make sure that you are clean on the inside as well as on the outside:
don't be a hypocrite!
VERSE:
Matthew 23:27 - Woe to you, Pharisees, and you religious leaders!
You are like beautiful mausoleums--full of dead men's bones, and of
foulness and corruption.

#25
CYBER LIE:
Only the nation of Israel will see Jesus appear in glory, so what are
you waiting for?
VERSE:
Matthew 24:30 - And then at last the signal of my coming will appear
in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning all around the earth.
And the nations of the world will see me arrive in the clouds of
heaven, with power and great glory.

#26
CYBER LIE:
Divided loyalties can be useful.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that people who hold down two jobs hate their bosses?
WRONG GUESS:
Could it mean everyone needs their own personal servant?
WRONG GUESS:
When you serve someone it's a love/hate relationship.
WRONG GUESS:
Money is the root of all evil.
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that I need to have my relationship with God be the
number one priority in my life?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
The way people are pulled in so many directions these days seems to
cause them to be divided and lack any true direction. The Bible
states this way of life will only bring anger and frustration. God
wants to be first in our lives. Then and only then will our lives be
complete.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
Can't I put God and money on a sort of equal footing? You know, make
them both top priority?
VERSE:
Luke 16:13 - For neither you nor anyone else can serve two masters.
You will hate one and show loyalty to the other, or else the other
way around--you will be enthusiastic about one and despise the other.
You cannot serve both God and money.

#27
CYBER LIE:
Jesus never said He was the Messiah.
VERSE:
John 4:25-26 - The woman said, "Well, at least I know that the
Messiah will come--the one they call Christ--and when he does, he
will explain everything to us." Then Jesus told her, "I am the
Messiah!"

#28
CYBER LIE:
It's hopeless! Jesus just left Christians on their own when He left
this world.
VERSE:
John 16:7 - But the fact of the matter is that it is best for you
that I go away, for if I don't, the Comforter won't come. If I do,
he will--for I will send him to you.

#29
CYBER LIE:
What you hear doesn't effect how you believe.
PARAPHRASE:
Read the Bible and listen to good teaching about Christ to increase
your faith.
VERSE:
Romans 10:17 - Yet faith comes from listening to this Good News-- the
Good News about Christ.

#30
CYBER LIE:
You might as well get drunk, cause you can't get high on God.
VERSE:
Ephesians 5:18 - Don't drink too much wine, for many evils lie along
that path; be filled instead with the Holy Spirit and controlled by
him.

#31
VERSE:
Ephesians 6:16 - In every battle you will need faith as your shield
to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.

#32
VERSE:
Ephesians 6:17b - the sword of the Spirit--which is the Word of God.

#33
CYBER LIE:
Look out for number one.
VERSE:
Philippians 2:4 - Don't just think about your own affairs, but be
interested in others, too, and in what they are doing.

#34
CYBER LIE:
Christians need to be somber and serious all the time.
VERSE:
Philippians 4:4 - Always be full of joy in the Lord; I say it again,
rejoice!

#35
CYBER LIE:
If you want to be content, you need lots of stuff!
WRONG GUESS:
This guy must have been on drugs to be that laid back.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that we have to go to school to know how to be hungry?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean we need to give everything away so we can learn to be
content?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that it's possible for us to be content no matter what
our circumstances are?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
It's wonderful to know the peace and contentment that God can bring
to our lives, and that it does not depend on our circumstances. The
knowledge that the Lord has supplied a peace like that is beyond this
world's understanding. The man who wrote this letter was the apostle
Paul, and he wrote it while he was in prison in Rome.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
But I just don't know how to live without lots of money! What if I
end up going hungry?
VERSE:
Philippians 4:11b-12 - for I have learned how to get along happily
whether I have much or little. I know how to live on almost nothing
or with everything. I have learned the secret of contentment in
every situation, whether it be a full stomach or hunger, plenty or
want;

#36
CYBER LIE:
All Christians are weak. Your trust in God makes you weak.
VERSE:
Philippians 4:13 - For I can do everything God asks me to with the
help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.

#37
CYBER LIE:
You are stuck with your old nature, God's not going to give you a new
one.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that I have a split personality, and need to go see a
psychiatrist about it?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that all of my weaknesses went away when I became a
Christian?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that someday I will look just like Jesus with the same
hair, same height, and so forth?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that God has given me a new nature, and that I no longer
have to sin the way I used to?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
When we become Christians, it's much more than just believing some
things about God: He will actually change our innermost beings if we
let Him. We have the glorious opportunity to partnership with Him in
redesigning who and what we are.
VERSE:
Colossians 3:9b-10 - it was your old life with all its wickedness
that did that sort of thing; now it is dead and gone. You are living
a brand new kind of life that is continually learning more and more
of what is right, and trying constantly to be more and more like
Christ who created this new life within you.

#38
CYBER LIE:
Loving Money is good! Money is the source of all happiness.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
When you LOVE money, it can pull you away from God! Loving money
causes all sorts of evil in your life.
VERSE:
1 Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is the first step toward all
kinds of sin. Some people have even turned away from God because of
their love for it, and as a result have pierced themselves with many
sorrows.

#39
CYBER LIE:
God doesn't take care of rich people, they're on their own.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
First, he said to stop placing your hope and trust in wealth, but
place your hope in God alone; then you'll enjoy all that He gives you.
VERSE:
1 Timothy 6:17 - Tell those who are rich not to be proud and not to
trust in their money, which will soon be gone, but their pride and
trust should be in the living God who always richly gives us all we
need for our enjoyment.

#40
CYBER LIE:
Generous people are suckers!
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
Secondly, to be rich in good deeds, generous and willing to share.
That way you will be investing in eternal things.
VERSE:
1 Timothy 6:18-19a - Tell them to use their money to do good. They
should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in
need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given
them. By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for
themselves in heaven--it is the only safe investment for eternity!

#41
PARAPHRASE:
Getting punished for wrongdoing is correct, however, if you do what
is right and get punished wrongly for it, God is pleased when you
take it patiently.
CYBER LIE:
Only bad people suffer, because God will never let the good people
suffer.
WRONG GUESS:
It means that if I let people abuse me God is pleased.
WRONG GUESS:
It means that if you're patient long enough, people are going to walk
all over you.
WRONG GUESS:
It means suffering is good.
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that if people give me a hard time for doing what God
said to do, then I should keep on doing what's right?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God wants His people to be different from this world rather than to
conform to the world as the godless do. He says that when someone
harms you, you should bless them. By our living this way, God is
pleased because we are reflecting His patience with us. Your
suffering ends up as something good.
VERSE:
1 Peter 2:20 - Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you
are beaten for doing wrong; but if you do right and suffer for it,
and are patient beneath the blows, God is well pleased.

#42
PARAPHRASE:
There are lying people in the world who say that Jesus Christ did not
really come to Earth. Don't believe them!
CYBER LIE:
There's no such person as the antichrist, and there never will be.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that all people who have not accepted Jesus are the
antichrist?
WRONG GUESS:
All people are deceived by the antichrist.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that Jesus is only in our imagination?
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that Jesus was "fleshly"?
CORRECT GUESS:
I guess this means that people who deny Jesus came are trying to
deceive us and they are against Christ.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Almost every place we turn today, even in some churches, we hear
stories told that the Bible is not true. This teaching denies that
our Lord Jesus came in the flesh. The Bible calls the people who
teach this way deceivers and antichrists.
VERSE:
2 John 1:7 - Watch out for the false leaders--and there are many of
them around--who don't believe that Jesus Christ came to earth as a
human being with a body like ours. Such people are against the truth
and against Christ.

when you do that, then you will be given renewed health and vitality.

God lets evil people continue to be evil, so He must approve of them.
VERSE:
Malachi 2:17 - You have wearied the Lord with your words. "Wearied
him?" you ask in fake surprise. "How have we wearied him?" By saying
that evil is good, that it pleases the Lord! Or by saying that God
won't punish us--he doesn't care.

#16
PARAPHRASE:
Don't be worried about the awful things in this world, you should be
concerned with eternal issues.
CYBER LIE:
There's nothing to fear: there is no hell.
WRONG GUESS:

WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that my soul can be killed by itself?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that my priority needs to be to live for God, and to
have eternal values?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
No matter what happens in our lives, each of us will face death at
some time. God wants us to know that our spiritual condition is the
most important thing to have in order. Some of us will die old, some
will die young. Some will go to heaven, some to hell.
VERSE:
Matthew 10:28 - Don't be afraid of those who can kill only your
bodies but can't touch your souls! Fear only God who can destroy

about Jesus and Christianity.
WRONG GUESS:
We need to find another planet to live on.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that we are all going to be destroyed?

CORRECT GUESS:
Does this mean that the world as we know it is going to be taken away
but the things God says will always be around?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
What God has said is more certain and can be trusted more than even
the things that we can see or feel in this world. The world's
existence is not as permanent as the Word of God.

forever.

#22

will meet all of our needs.
VERSE:
Mark 6:30-31 - The apostles now returned to Jesus from their tour and
told him all they had done and what they had said to the people they
visited. Then Jesus suggested, "Let's get away from the crowds for a
while and rest." For so many people were coming and going that they
scarcely had time to eat.

#23
CYBER LIE:
There's no such thing as eternal life. You just cease to exist.
PARAPHRASE:
God wanted so much for us to live with Him in eternity that He sent
Jesus to make that possible.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that Christians will never die?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that God doesn't love Jesus?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that if we believe that Jesus existed, then we will be
saved?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that God loved me so much that His Son paid the price
for my eternal life?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
This is one of the most quoted verses in the Bible. Jesus is the one
speaking. He's talking about Himself. He goes on to say that He
came to save the world and to offer mankind this eternal life with
Him. The only requirement is that they turn to Him and believe.
VERSE:
John 3:16 - For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son
so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal
life.

#24
CYBER LIE:
Tell everyone how great you are: you're only telling the truth!
VERSE:
John 7:18 - Anyone presenting his own ideas is looking for praise for
himself, but anyone seeking to honor the one who sent him is a good
and true person.

#25
PARAPHRASE:
The devil spins lies in order to entrap you, but when God shows you
the truth, then you will be free from the devil's schemes.
CYBER LIE:
Once you've been trapped in a lie, there's no escape.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
That's right! You need to face the truth in order to escape your
dependency:
WRONG GUESS:
We will all become "Know It Alls".
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that truth is free?
WRONG GUESS:
Does that mean that I can always get out of jail by telling the truth?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that if I am trapped by the devil's lies, then I can
escape them by knowing God's truth?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
In this verse Jesus was talking about His teachings. He was saying
that what He was teaching was completely the truth and that living by
these truths we would receive a freedom like we have never known. If
we live in the truth, we are no longer bound by lies.
VERSE:
John 8:32 - And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you
free.

Acts 5:29 - But Peter and the apostles replied, "We must obey God
rather than men."

#27
CYBER LIE:
The rule about not fornicating is just for the Old Testament Jews, it
doesn't apply to us Gentile Christians.
VERSE:
Acts 15:19-20 - And so my judgment is that we should not insist that
the Gentiles who turn to God must obey our Jewish laws, except that
we should write to them to refrain from eating meat sacrificed to
idols, from all fornication, and also from eating unbled meat of
strangled animals.

#28
CYBER LIE:
You don't have to serve either God or the devil, you can be your own
master.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
God won't force you to confess all of your sins, but whatever isn't
under God's control in your life is something that's controlling you.
VERSE:
Romans 6:16 - Don't you realize that you can choose your own master?
You can choose sin with death or else obedience with acquittal. The
one to whom you offer yourself--he will take you and be your master,
and you will be his slave.

#29
CYBER LIE:
After you become a Christian, you'll never sin again.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
Even the apostle Paul had trouble doing what was right.
WRONG GUESS:
This means I'm so bad I'll never change.
WRONG GUESS:
I'm so bad that there is no hope for me.
WRONG GUESS:
I have no control over the way I act.
WRONG GUESS:
I'm able to do whatever I want because I'm not in control of my life,
anyway.
CORRECT GUESS:
It seems to say I have a hard time doing what is right even though I
really want to.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
The apostle Paul is talking in this verse about the battle that was
going on in his life. As much as he wanted to live his life under
submission to God's correct principles, he would find himself doing
the very opposite. It seems that Paul was having the same problems
that we do.
VERSE:
Romans 7:18-19 - I know I am rotten through and through so far as my
old sinful nature is concerned. No matter which way I turn I can't
make myself do right. I want to but I can't. When I want to do
good, I don't; and when I try not to do wrong, I do it anyway.

#30
CYBER LIE:
Sex with a prostitute is just casual sex. It's just a physical
experience with no long term effects.
VERSE:
1 Corinthians 6:16 - And don't you know that if a man joins himself
to a prostitute she becomes a part of him and he becomes a part of
her? For God tells us in the Scripture that in his sight the two
become one person.

#31
CYBER LIE:
The only reason for marriage is to have babies.
VERSE:
1 Corinthians 7:9 - But if you can't control yourselves, go ahead and
marry. It is better to marry than to burn with lust.

#32
CYBER LIE:
You can fight, murder, get drunk, have wild parties, hate, get into
crystals, hold seances, ANYTHING AT ALL! It doesn't affect your
relationship with God.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
Thank you for being honest. Maybe if I read you a list of sins from
the Bible, you'd have a better idea of what I'm talking about:
VERSE:
Galatians 5:20a-21 - idolatry, spiritism (that is, encouraging the
activity of demons), hatred and fighting, jealousy and anger, ...
envy, murder, drunkenness, wild parties, and all that sort of thing.
Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort
of life will not inherit the kingdom of God.

#33
CYBER LIE:
If a person doesn't meet your standards, you should tell him to "get
lost".
VERSE:
Galatians 6:1 - Dear brothers, if a Christian is overcome by some
sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help him back onto
the right path, remembering that next time it might be one of you who
is in the wrong.

#34
VERSE:
Ephesians 6:16 - In every battle you will need faith as your shield
to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.

#35
VERSE:
Ephesians 6:17b - the sword of the Spirit--which is the Word of God.

#36
CYBER LIE:
God's not going to complete His work in you, He's going leave you as
a half-finished lump.
VERSE:
Philippians 1:6 - And I am sure that God who began the good work
within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his
task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ
returns.

#37
CYBER LIE:
Jesus will never be acknowledged as "Lord of All". The devil's going
to win.
VERSE:
Philippians 2:10-11 - That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow
in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue shall
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

#38
PARAPHRASE:
God knows how to take care of you, He's rich!
CYBER LIE:
God can't meet your needs, He's too poor.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus must be very rich.
WRONG GUESS:
I won't have any problems if I'm a Christian.
WRONG GUESS:
If God is so rich, then He doesn't care about people that are poor.
WRONG GUESS:
Poor people must not know God.
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that when Jesus came He brought with Him everything that
I will ever really need?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Not only will God supply, but He has already supplied through His son
Jesus everything we will ever need. Our lives in Him are filled
beyond anything we could ever ask or even imagine.
VERSE:
Philippians 4:19 - And it is he who will supply all your needs from
his riches in glory because of what Christ Jesus has done for us.

#39
CYBER LIE:
Being a Christian means that everyone will like you.
VERSE:
2 Timothy 3:12 - Yes, and those who decide to please Christ Jesus by
living godly lives will suffer at the hands of those who hate him.

#40
PARAPHRASE:
As we come to understand God's gift of grace for us, that
understanding helps us to turn away from the sins of the world, and
lead godly lives.
CYBER LIE:
You're going to Hell! You'll never be saved. God will never give
you the ability to live a godly life!
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
We will always be tempted to sin, but our dependence upon God's mercy
helps us not to sin, and helps us live a good, godly life that's
pleasing to Him.
VERSE:
Titus 2:11-12 - For the free gift of eternal salvation is now being
offered to everyone; and along with this gift comes the realization
that God wants us to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures
and to live good, God-fearing lives day after day,

#41
CYBER LIE:
God can't relate to the overwhelming temptations of today.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
God can't relate to MY problems!
WRONG GUESS:
God feels sorry for us because we are weaklings.
WRONG GUESS:
God is looking for some lady named Grace.
WRONG GUESS:
Since God has the same temptations we do, it must be okay if we sin.
WRONG GUESS:
We need to be free from sin in order to pray to God.
CORRECT GUESS:
God has the ability to feel the same way that we do and yet not sin.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God is telling us that He understands how we feel and the
frustrations we are going through. He tells us that when we are
feeling this way that we can come to Him in our prayers, without fear.
VERSE:
Hebrews 4:15-16a - This High Priest of ours understands our
weaknesses since he had the same temptations we do, though he never
once gave way to them and sinned. So let us come boldly to the very
throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace

#42
CYBER LIE:
Helping people with food and clothing is a waste of time. God only
wants you to help them "spiritually".
VERSE:
James 2:15-16 - If you have a friend who is in need of food and
clothing, and you say to him, "Well, good-bye and God bless you; stay
warm and eat hearty," and then don't give him clothes or food, what
good does that do?

#43
PARAPHRASE:
Tell other believers your sins and pray with them. This will help
your healing process.
CYBER LIE:
God wants you to deal with your sins just between you and Him. Don't
ever tell anyone else.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
The Bible says that we should confess our sins to another believer so
that they can pray for us that we can be healed.
VERSE:
James 5:16a - Admit your faults to one another and pray for each
other so that you may be healed.

#44
CYBER LIE:
What matters is looking good, not being "nice".
VERSE:
1 Peter 3:3-4 - Don't be concerned about the outward beauty that
depends on jewelry, or beautiful clothes, or hair arrangement. Be
beautiful inside, in your hearts, with the lasting charm of a gentle
and quiet spirit that is so precious to God.

#45
CYBER LIE:
You can't tell God what you've done; He'd never forgive you.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
Jesus died for our sins, but we still need to agree with God about
our sins, then He can cleanse us.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that we don't have to worry about the consequences of
sin?
WRONG GUESS:
Since Jesus is so faithful and just, He will forgive everyone in the
world.
WRONG GUESS:
I need to go to the police department and tell them all the bad
things I have done.
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that if I tell Jesus the wrong things that I have done,
He will forgive me?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God wants us to agree with Him; that we have not always done
everything the way He wants us to, in fact many times we rebel
completely. When we do agree or "confess", He forgives so much that
our sins are no longer even remembered by Him.
VERSE:
1 John 1:9 - But if we confess our sins to him, he can be depended on
to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.

#46
CYBER LIE:
If you want to be popular, act like the popular people, even if they
get in trouble all the time.
VERSE:
3 John 1:11 - Dear friend, don't let this bad example influence you.
Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do what is right
prove that they are God's children; and those who continue in evil
prove that they are far from God.

mend his ways."

#03
CYBER LIE:
God would never let His people go hungry to teach them a lesson.
VERSE:
Deuteronomy 8:3 - Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and
then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to both you
and your ancestors. He did it to help you realize that food isn't
everything, and that real life comes by obeying every command of God.

#04
CYBER LIE:
God has broken His promises to Israel.
VERSE:
Joshua 21:45 - Every good thing the Lord had promised them came true.

#05
CYBER LIE:
Since Satan stays in Hell, he is irrelevant.
VERSE:
Job 1:6-7 - One day as the angels came to present themselves before
the Lord, Satan, the Accuser, came with them. "Where have you come
from?" the Lord asked Satan. And Satan replied, "From Earth, where
I've been watching everything that's going on."

#06
VERSE:
Psalms 119:105 - Your words are a flashlight to light the path ahead
of me and keep me from stumbling.

#07
PARAPHRASE:
God understands, loves and watches over us all the time.
CYBER LIE:
God can't understand you. Nobody understands.
WRONG GUESS:
God must have spies watching me all the time.
WRONG GUESS:
This God sounds like He has a problem with wanting to control
everyone.
WRONG GUESS:
Is God psychic?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does this mean that God understands me, loves me and watches over me
all the time?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
In this Psalm, David is giving God praise. Sometimes when we come to
God we forget that He knows everything there is to know about us. We
try to explain our prayers to God or we might try to bargain with Him
to get our answer. Let's remember that God knows all things, and He
knows the very thing that is needed in our lives.
VERSE:
Psalms 139:1-3 - O Lord, you have examined my heart and know
everything about me. You know when I sit or stand. When far away
you know my every thought. You chart the path ahead of me and tell
me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am.

#08
VERSE:
Psalms 141:9 - Keep me out of their traps.

#09
PARAPHRASE:
Wisdom and understanding are more important than money.
CYBER LIE:
Having money is better than being "wise".
VERSE:
Proverbs 3:13-14 - The man who knows right from wrong and has good
judgment and common sense is happier than the man who is immensely
rich!

your mouth. Be sensible and turn off the flow!

PARAPHRASE:
Ignoring criticism and instruction will lead to poverty and shame.
CYBER LIE:
Don't listen to anyone else, especially if they are trying to "teach"

Proverbs 25:16 - Do you like honey? Don't eat too much of it, or it
will make you sick!

#14
CYBER LIE:
When someone's depressed, just sing and be happy around them. That
will cheer them up.
VERSE:
Proverbs 25:20 - Being happy-go-lucky around a person whose heart is
heavy is as bad as stealing his jacket in cold weather or rubbing
salt in his wounds.

#15
CYBER LIE:
The Bible says that the earth is flat.
VERSE:
Isaiah 40:22a - It is God who sits above the circle of the earth,

#16
PARAPHRASE:
No matter how young you are, God has judgement in store for those who
are involved in witchcraft and astrology.
CYBER LIE:
Hey kiddies, go ahead and call those 1-900 psychic lines, they're a
LOT of FUN for kids, and it's really okay with God.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
But no real harm came of that spooky stuff: I was just a kid having
fun.
VERSE:
Isaiah 47:12-14a - Call out the demon hordes you've worshiped all
these years. You have advisors by the ton--your astrologers and
stargazers, who try to tell you what the future holds. But they are
as useless as dried grass burning in the fire. They cannot even
deliver themselves!

#17
CYBER LIE:
Jesus was a con artist who mesmerized people with His beauty and
charisma.
VERSE:
Isaiah 53:2 - In God's eyes he was like a tender green shoot,
sprouting from a root in dry and sterile ground. But in our eyes
there was no attractiveness at all, nothing to make us want him.

#18
CYBER LIE:
You don't need to obey God, you're just a kid!
PARAPHRASE:
Being young is no excuse for not doing what God tells you to do.
WRONG GUESS:
Is God mean to kids?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that kids have to leave home and become tele-evangelists?
WRONG GUESS:
Is God someone who doesn't care whether I am weak?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that we can't tell God that we are afraid?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that even though you may be young, God still wants you
to obey Him?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God is not limited by our age or abilities; when He tells us to do
something, He will give us the ability to do it. We may feel that
God has made a mistake by choosing us, but we need to stop making
excuses and obey Him.
VERSE:
Jeremiah 1:6-7 - "O Lord God," I said, "I can't do that! I'm far too
young! I'm only a youth!" "Don't say that," he replied, "for you
will go wherever I send you and speak whatever I tell you to."

#19
PARAPHRASE:
God wants good things to happen to us.
CYBER LIE:
God's plans for you stink.
WRONG GUESS:
We have no choice in life, God's pulling all the strings.
WRONG GUESS:
Everything that comes our way will be wonderful.
CORRECT GUESS:
It says here that God really does care what happens to me.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Sometimes as we go through life we lose track of the fact that God is
with us. If things are not going smoothly we ask "Where is He?" or
"Why is this happening?" or "God doesn't care." God's overall plans
for us are good. Accepting God's plan, and His correction leads to
maturity in our walk with Him.
VERSE:
Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," says the
Lord. "They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a
future and a hope."

#20
PARAPHRASE:
Only God can explain life's secrets to us.

life?

Daniel 2:28a - but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets.

#21
PARAPHRASE:
God is waiting for us to repent and come to Him. He wants to forgive
us and bless us.
CYBER LIE:
God is really crabby, and gets ticked off easily.
WRONG GUESS:
God wants His people to be torn up all the time.
WRONG GUESS:
God must have changed because I was told I had to be afraid of Him.
CORRECT GUESS:
This sounds like God is waiting for me to come to Him and He wants to
forgive me. He's not mad and He loves me.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God has constantly tried to teach His people how to live. Mankind
thinks that the reasons for its problems are external while God says
they come from within a man's heart. God again tells us in this
verse what really works. The good changes in our lives will come
from the inside as our hearts change.
VERSE:
Joel 2:13 - Let your remorse tear at your hearts and not your
garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and
merciful. He is not easily angered; he is full of kindness and
anxious not to punish you.

#22
CYBER LIE:
Trusting in God isn't going to help you with your problems.
VERSE:
Nahum 1:7 - The Lord is good. When trouble comes, he is the place to
go! And he knows everyone who trusts in him!

#23
PARAPHRASE:
Psychics will deceive and mislead you.
CYBER LIE:
Psychics and astrologers have the inside scoop on the spiritual realm.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
How can it be wrong when the insights it's given me have been so
helpful.
VERSE:
Zechariah 10:2a - How foolish to ask the idols for anything like
that!  Fortune-tellers' predictions are all a bunch of silly lies;
what comfort is there in promises that don't come true?

#24
PARAPHRASE:
Jesus doesn't want us to hide our relationship with Him.
CYBER LIE:
No one has to know you're a Christian. Just keep your faith between
you and God.
WRONG GUESS:
We all need to stand on corners and preach the word of God.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that Peter must not be in heaven?
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus was a bad sport and won't let me have salvation unless I do
some "works".
CORRECT GUESS:
It sounds like Jesus doesn't want us to hide our relationship with
Him.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Jesus was in the process of sending out the twelve disciples when He
made these statements. He had just finished saying "do not be
afraid" a number of times. As Christians we need to be willing to
tell others about our Lord. We can talk to them about what He has
already done in our lives.
VERSE:
Matthew 10:32-33 - If anyone publicly acknowledges me as his friend,
I will openly acknowledge him as my friend before my Father in
heaven. But if anyone publicly denies me, I will openly deny him
before my Father in heaven.

#25
CYBER LIE:
God only judges your actions, not your words.
WRONG GUESS:
It's okay to talk any way you want to as long as you really think
about it first.
WRONG GUESS:
Does that mean that I'm in trouble for all the things I've ever said?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that what I say will justify me?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that the evil person will be accountable for the things
he says as well as the things he has done?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Jesus is explaining the things that a man says come out of his heart.
In reality the things that we say reflect what's inside, the thoughts
and intents of our heart. He tells us here that we are responsible
even for those little slips in our speech.
VERSE:
Matthew 12:36-37 - And I tell you this, that you must give account on
Judgment Day for every idle word you speak. Your words now reflect
your fate then: either you will be justified by them or you will be
condemned.

#26
PARAPHRASE:
Look out if you lead others into temptation.
CYBER LIE:
Drug dealers aren't responsible for the hurt caused by drugs: they
don't MAKE the users take it.
VERSE:
Matthew 18:7 - Woe upon the world for all its evils. Temptation to
do wrong is inevitable, but woe to the man who does the tempting.

#27
CYBER LIE:

VERSE:
Matthew 21:12 - Jesus went into the Temple, drove out the merchants,
and knocked over the moneychangers' tables and the stalls of those
selling doves.

CYBER LIE:
People can accurately predict the day and hour when Jesus will come

light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms shall be
broadcast from the housetops for all to hear!

#30

Jesus made a choice to die for our sins.
CYBER LIE:
Jesus wasn't powerful enough to stop them from killing Him.
WRONG GUESS:
The only reason God loves Jesus is because He died.
WRONG GUESS:
Jesus didn't need to die on the cross.
WRONG GUESS:
Does this mean that God wanted Jesus to die?
CORRECT GUESS:
I think this means that Jesus made a choice to die for my sins.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
When Jesus died on the cross, He had made the decision to do it for
you and for me. He did it by His own free will, no one made Him do
it nor could have stopped Him from doing it. No one else has ever
had this power and no one ever will.
VERSE:
John 10:17-18 - The Father loves me because I lay down my life that I
may have it back again. No one can kill me without my consent-I lay
down my life voluntarily. For I have the right and power to lay it
down when I want to and also the right and power to take it again.
For the Father has given me this right.

#31
PARAPHRASE:
The only way to get to God is through Jesus.
CYBER LIE:
There are many other ways than Jesus to get to God.
WRONG GUESS:
Since Jesus says He is the only way to God I have to wait till He
returns.
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that I can't find truth until Jesus returns?
WRONG GUESS:
Does it mean that Jesus is keeping us from getting to the Father?
CORRECT GUESS:
Does it mean that I can't get to God by any other means than Jesus?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
Some people and some religious groups say there are many ways to God
but Jesus is saying that there is no other way to God except through
Him.
VERSE:
John 14:6 - Jesus told him, "I am the Way--yes, and the Truth and the
Life. No one can get to the Father except by means of me."

#32
PARAPHRASE:
Jesus will live with you and love you, if you listen to Him and do
what He asks.
CYBER LIE:
It doesn't matter if you love and obey Jesus, God is still very far
away and He won't have anything to do with you.
CONVERSATION WITH VICTIM:
God is happy to reside in a person who loves and obeys Him.
VERSE:
John 14:23 - Jesus replied, "Because I will only reveal myself to
those who love me and obey me. The Father will love them too, and we
will come to them and live with them."

#33
CYBER LIE:
It's okay to drink blood, especially if it is part of a ritual.
VERSE:
Acts 15:27-29 - For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to
lay no greater burden of Jewish laws on you than to abstain from
eating food offered to idols and from unbled meat of strangled
animals, and, of course, from fornication. If you do this, it is
enough. Farewell.

#34
PARAPHRASE:
If you have been involved in psychic stuff or crystals, don't let
your financial investment keep you from repenting.
CYBER LIE:
It's okay to read satanic books, you won't need to give them up.

it all go up in smoke.
WRONG GUESS:
Burning these books saved these people.
WRONG GUESS:
It's okay to talk about magic and satanism all the time.
WRONG GUESS:

CORRECT GUESS:
When you repent to God of your involvement with crystals or psychic
stuff, you shouldn't let the financial investments in it stop you
from destroying it.
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
When Jesus comes into our lives we begin to change from the inside.
Many of our practices of the past are no longer what we want to do.
We become willing and ready to get those things out of our lives.
VERSE:
Acts 19:18-19 - Many of the believers who had been practicing black
magic confessed their deeds and brought their incantation books and
charms and burned them at a public bonfire. (Someone estimated the
value of the books at $10,000.)

#35
CYBER LIE:
Revenge is sweet, a dish to be served up cold.
VERSE:
Romans 12:19 - Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to
God, for he has said that he will repay those who deserve it. (Don't
take the law into your own hands.)

#36
CYBER LIE:
To preserve the unity of the church, we should condone sinful
behavior and go ahead and fellowship with "christians" who continue
in sin.
VERSE:
1 Corinthians 5:11 - What I meant was that you are not to keep
company with anyone who claims to be a brother Christian but indulges
in sexual sins, or is greedy, or is a swindler, or worships idols, or

Is this verse talking about Jesus and what His body and blood mean
when we take communion?
EXPLANATION OF CORRECT GUESS:
God wants His people to understand what they are doing when they take
communion. He wants us to examine ourselves and to realize that we
cannot make it alone. The body and blood of Jesus, His death on the
cross, and His resurrection from the dead are all things we need to
consider when receiving communion. We need to remember He died in
our place and for our sins.
VERSE:
1 Corinthians 11:29-30 - For if he eats the bread and drinks from the
cup unworthily, not thinking about the body of Christ and what it
means, he is eating and drinking God's judgment upon himself; for he
is trifling with the death of Christ. That is why many of you are
weak and sick and some have died.

inwardly clean, no one being able to criticize you from now until our
Lord returns.
