'420' : two-men racer 4.20 7.45 98 9 -
The '420' is one of the most popular racers. Especcially in France,
where it is designed by Christian Maury in 1960, the '420' is seen
very often.
The '420' is an international two-men racer. The boat forms the
link between the Optimist and the '470'. In races the '420' is
submitted to strict rules.
Thanks to its stuffed chambers the '420' can not sink and therefore
it is very popular for sailing at sea. The boat is quite fast and
does not demand much maintenance. The '420' is suitable for a crew
with a total weight between 100 and 140 kg. Because the force to
sail and to raise the boat is low, the '420' is a good choice for
young sailors.
