Barbados lies approximately 160 km east of The Grenadines. It
is the most easterly island of the Lesser Antilles.
Barbados was a British colony until its independence in 1961,
and this influence is most noticeable, especially in the
capital Bridgetown.
Barbados is one of the most densely populated areas in the
world, having 600 inhabitants per km^2 (The Netherlands: +/- 400
inhabitants per km^2).
