The Channel Islands is a group of english islands which are
situated in the Channel, near the Normandy coast. They include
Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark.
They cover 195 km^2 and house 130,000 inhabitants. The islands
are important centers of tourism, but are also well-known because
of their fruit and vegetables, as well as their stockbreeding.
The Channel Islands were occupied by the Germans during World
War II.

This area also includes the Chausey Islands, which are depen-
dent of the main city in the area: Granville.
