North-East of the village "Grouw" you will find the "Princenhof",
the "Pikmeer" and the "Wijde Ee".
The "Princenhof" is a very nice water landscape on both sides of
the wide "Folkertsloot", which runs East-West. It has an area of
200 hectare.
Because of the many islands and spits of land, there is not so
much free fairway. The area South of the "Folkertsloot" is partly
nature reserve. There is a channel right through this area (the
"Raamsloot") which is navigable with maximum draught of 1.20
meter. The "Pikmeer" has an area of 60 hectare and is, just as the
"Wijde Ee" and the "Sijtebuurster Ee", navigable on the entire
breadth, with a draught of 1.80 meter.
