Valk : two-men keelboat 6.50 16.0 455 14.5 5
The Valk has been designed in 1939 by the dutch engineer E.G. van
de Stadt. Since 1940 the Valk has been a dutch national class
and can be sailed by two or three persons. The Valk is made of
triplex and has a hard chine. Because of the use of triplex and the
light keel (150 kg), the boat is relatively light (380 kg). The Valk
reaches high speeds on every cours and is capable to plane during
strong breeze. The Valk has a big cockpit, in which there is room
for six persons. For this reason, the Valk is often used by dutch
sailing schools for instruction.
