1. Troubleshooting guide.

Broken Sword requires a VESA 1.2 compatible video card with 1MB of VRAM. You
may need to install software drivers if your hardware is not VESA 1.2
compatible.

If you experience graphic corruption in the top and bottom of the display,
then you may wish to use the SAFEVIDEO option on the command line. For example,
type 'SWORD SAFEVIDEO'. This option reduces the quality of the display, but
fixes the flashing problem for older video cards.

2. WINDOWS 95 issues.

Broken Sword requires your computer to be set to 256 colour mode or higher.
Having the windows desktop in 16 colours or less will cause problems with
DirectDraw.

There are two system options which cause problems on some computers. Firstly,
if you get mouse corruption between screens, or the windows mouse appearing
occasionally, you may wish to reduce the video hardware acceleration slider
by a single notch. This can be found from the control panel in
System|Performance|Graphics. Reducing this slider removes the hardware
mouse which is causing the problem.

Some fast CD-Rom drives cause problems when reading ahead. Set the CD-Rom to
'No Read-Ahead' from the control panel in System|File System|CD-ROM.

During the installation of DirectX, you may be requested to insert the disk
labelled 'Direct Draw Drivers' or 'Direct Sound Drivers'. If you do not have
such a disk then click Browse and then OK. This will install the necessary
drivers.
