Welcome to QAD
--------------

To install QAD:

1. Go to an MS-DOS prompt (in the Main window of Windows 3.1 or in the Start
menu of Windows 95)
2. Move to your CD drive (usually by typing D: or E:)
3. Type INSTALL
4. Follow the on-screen instructions

To run QAD:

1. (DOS) Move to your QAD installation directory and type QAD
2. (Win 3.1) Either run QAD from an MS-DOS prompt, or use file manager to
run QAD.PIF, which is in your QAD installation directory. We recommend
that you close down Windows 3.1 and run QAD in native DOS mode.
3. (Win 95) Either run QAD from an MS-DOS prompt or run the QAD icon which
appears on your desktop after installation. We recommend that you close
down Windows 95 and run QAD in native DOS mode (native DOS mode is around
20% faster than a Windows 95 DOS prompt).

QAD minimum configuration:

AT-compatible IBM PC clone
486-66DX2 processor or better (Pentium 60 recommended)
12Mb of RAM
VESA-compatible video card with VESA BIOS 1.2 support
Hard-disk with 2Mb of free space (optimal install = 20Mb)
(Note: while running, QAD uses 20Mb of hard-disk space)

Known problems:

This is a VESA 1.2 application. You may experience problems if running
UniVBE, a VESA 2.0 emulation program. If QAD crashes after the intro FMV,
and you are running UniVBE, please disable it and try again.
