Hello everyone! You have downloaded the finest software package available...

-------------------------------> SpiffyPilot <-------------------------------

This is what I've been working on for a long time... This file has a few
notes on what to expect with it and how to use it.

SPilot is a very graphically intense game. Because of this, you need at
least a 486-33. It does not use a floating point processor, so an SX is
fine. This program is completely speed adjusting, so play on a 486 will be
just as enjoyable as on a Pentium, it will just be a bit more choppy. When
this is played on a Septium (80786) it should not go to fast and on my lowly
486 it works just fine.

Aside from SPilot.exe, there are a number of other files that may be of use
to you. There is a graphics editor (TileEdit.exe), a level editor
(WrldEdit.exe), a world creator (NewWorld.exe), and a keyboard editor
(Keymap.exe). This file will explain how to use them.

  SPilot.exe - Main program
This program takes a number of arguments (Type SPILOT -H) to get a list),
that can specify options and the level number to play. This is the main
program, take a look!

  TileEdit.exe - Graphics editor
In SpiffyPilot, all of the graphics are 16 by 16 pixels. They have all been
created in this editor (With the exception of the few that I stole from other
places...) Basically, you have two buttons that can each hold a color. You
can draw with either and each can have an individual color. You can draw
lines, ellipses, etc... The only one that really needs explanation is
"Solid" which draws a solid box.

  WrldEdit.exe - Level editor
This program is probably the hardest to get the hang of. Basically, the
right mouse button does a "Copy" operation and the left button does a "Paste"
operation. To grab a portion of the world into the clipboard, drag the mouse
with the right button over the area. A box should be formed. When you let
go of the button, the area that is hilighted is copied to the clipboard. To
paste the clipboard onto the world, hit the left mouse button.

  NewWorld.exe - Level creator
Since WrldEdit has no provisions for creating new levels (and it would be a
b*tch to add!), I wrote a program that just creates levels. It is pretty
self explanatory....

  Keymap.exe - Keyboard editor
This program allows you to change the keys that you use to control your ship.
Just run the program, it is self explanatory too.
