SECTION 1: Hardware Configuration Issues
------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are having problems with your video display, please make sure
that you have obtained the latest Microsoft Direct X III video drivers
for your card. 99% of all video performance issues, or incompatibilities
can be traced to not having the latest Direct X video card drivers.

Note to Diamond Stealth 64 video card users: if your video card is
set to the fully accelerated mode you will experience game
performance problems. You should toggle this setting off for your
card.

During testing it was noted that some multi-CD changers experienced
difficulties with Star General and Microsoft Direct X III. Please make
sure that you have the most recent drivers for your multi-CD changer
before playing Star General.

A sound card is required for the game. During the sound setup routine
for the DOS version, you must set up a sound card or the game will
not work.

We recommend that you do not run screen savers while playing the
Win 95 version of the game.

If you lose a connection while playing in multiplayer mode,
you should re-boot your machine before re-establishing another game
session.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
SECTION 2: Game Cinematic Performance
------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your cinematic sequences are breaking up (symptoms include
choppy music and blocky graphics), then you should copy the contents of
the directory on your CD called SINFO into the directory on your
hard drive called SINFO.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
SECTION 3: Unit Data Changes
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since the time the manual was printed, there have been some changes
to the unit data in the game. We have included a final unit data
chart in 2 formats for your perusal: in your Star General game directory
you will find a text file entitled "UNITDATA.TXT" We have also
included a Microsoft Excel file with the unit data (this is the
UNITS.XLS file which you can find in the UNITS directory under
your Star General directory).

If you wish to edit the unit data for the game and implement your values
into the game check the STAR GENERAL web page for an editor to do this!

------------------------------------------------------------------------
SECTION 4: Unit Capability Changes
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Destroyers now have an 80% chance of making a torpedo run against
Battleships before they are attacked. Use those Destroyers to
take out Battleships!

------------------------------------------------------------------------
SECTION 5: Miscellaneous Game Changes
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Huge, and Vast maps are not available in the war setup for
the DOS version of the game.

In the Race Statistics screen, if the player puts the mouse over the
Hressan Hunters unit, the smart text will mistakenly display, "Killers."

Disbanding units does not provide RP's.

When purchasing a Space Dock next to a Moon (frozen) planet, the
cost is 50 RP's.

In the tutorial scenario, the Hressan DE may not attack your
Battleship as noted in the manual.

If the victory conditions are set to 51% in a 2 player random War,
the first player will need to capture 75% of the second player's
planets to meet victory conditions.

Due to Microsoft Direct X full screen mode in Windows, we don't
recommend that you attempt keyboard input during the AI player's
turn as you may inadvertantly minimize the application and corrupt
your game data.

NOTE TO DOS USERS: If you use the boot disk creator, please note
that you will need to edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT file to include a
mouse driver otherwise the game will fail. Additionally, if
you installed the game into a different directory other than
C:\STARGEN you will receive the following error message after
booting from your boot disk: "Bad command or file name." Simply
change into the correct directory and type SGDOS and the game will
boot. DOS users should not attempt to use MEMMAKER with their
boot disk as MEMMAKER may attempt to load your CD ROM drivers
incorrectly which will result in game crashes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
SECTION 6: What is MPlayer?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
MPlayer is a Web based online gaming service. Star General does not
currently support MPlayer, however an MPlayer adaptation of Star General
is currently underway. If you install MPlayer, you can still log
on to their service and peruse the other games that MPlayer currently
offers. If you like what you see you can subscribe to MPlayer and
compete with other online gamers. Check it out!

PANZER GENERAL ONLINE GAME NOTES:

1) If you experience screen delays during play it is not due to your
computer having locked up. This is simply a result of your
computer sending/receiving packets of information to/from TEN.

2) If you access the Panzer General manual while in a game
scenario, you must do one of the following to get back into
the game (depending on where you are at):

        a) If you are in the Acrobat reader, click on the
Panzer Online button on the Win 95 task bar at the
bottom of your screen. This will put you back in
the scenario that you were playing.

        b) If you exit the Acrobat reader it will drop you
into the Panzer General lobby. The game will still
be running in the background. To get back into the
game, minimize the Panzer General lobby screen,
click on the Panzer Online button on the Win 95
task bar at the bottom of your screen.

3) The F-11 key will allow you to view who is playing in
the current scenario, and who is currently the active player.

4) While in the scenario setup screen, you can press F-12
to see how many players are in the scenario setup screen with
you.

5) Printing the game manual from Adobe Acrobat may take up to
20 minutes depending on the speed and memory of your printer.
