Stunt Surfer Version 3.3

Okay everybody, now Majesty has something new to show off to you. Finally,
Stunt Surfer 3.3 is at your electronic doorstep, awaiting you to play! 3.3
offers even more new stunts (6), and a few new ways to get more points. These
will be explained later. For those of you who haven't played 1.5 or 2.15,
here is the basic idea: you are a surfer out going for high ratings against
judges. Dazzle them with your high jumping, fantastic flips and other
moves, and mabye they will award you with more honorful titles than "Baby
Boarder!". Just go out there and show them what you're made of, or compete
with up to four friends in the tournament mode.

This guide will tell you how to play Stunt Surfer 3.3, but only the basics.
If you peek at the HINTS.TXT included within the compressed file, you will
find out how to do a few real stunts. Or, you can figure them out on your
own, which is pretty tough. If you have played the previous Stunt Surfers,
you may think you've got a big advantage. Think again. Almost all the stunts
have new button configurations, all in the numeric keypad area with the +
and -. Now, to start the game, just run SURFER.EXE, or load SURFER.BAS
through your QBasic environment.

First you will see Majesty's crown descend with some repetitive sounds. Just
Press ENTER to continue. Next you will see some 3-D title boxes appear over
the gaming showing the basic layout of the game, except for time and score.
Your character is a somewhat cheap graphic of a long-legged man with two
large cyan eyes and an awkward mouth. You can see the waves moving.

Then comes the main menu. You have five options - One Player, Two Player
Showdown, Four Player Tournament, Stunt Surfer II News, and Quit Stunt Surfer
3.1. Choose any of them. Note that when you play multiplayer, you do not play
at the same time.

When you finally choose an option, it will go to the suit select screen.
Here you can select your suit color. If you are playing multiplayer, each
player will select there color. More than one person can be the same color.
As soon as everyone has chosen their suit color, it jumps right into the
action with player 1 starting. Watch the waves move, but don't waste time.
Up on top are a few statistics - your health, the timer, and your score.
Your health bar will decrease a little bit for each trick and a lot each
time you fowl up a trick. If it depletes down to nothing, the surfer will
sink where he stands (surfs?). Next is the timer. Watch it - when it gets
down to zero, a shark fin creeps up on you and you sink. Then there is the
score. It's pretty obvious, but I'll say it anyway - get as many points
as you can. Oh, and new in this version, is a hi-score like at the arcade.
It keeps track of the LARGEST score. Mine, as you can see, is 19071. Pretty
high. And to let you know, I pulled off a LOT of combos to get it. If you
want to make your own, then edit SURFER.HI and make it 0, or some number
you'd like to "aspire" to.

Now that you're familiar with the game, you should learn the basic controls.
You use the left and right arrow keys to move left and right, the up arrow
key to leap up with your surfboard, and the down arrow key to super leap.
If you want to end the game prematurely, press ESC and the surfer will sink.

Note that if you are playing on a slower system (or faster) than intended,
the timer will move slower, but the same with the graphics and game, so
that it balances out, or vice-versa.

If you ever do exit (usually takes the game testers awhile), you can watch
the waves move up and up and up.

Remember when I talked about extra point-winning manuevers? Well, here they
are. The first one is very tough to do - and impossible if you don't know
the right numbers. Your score has to equal a certain amount, and when you
sink, you may get more points... or lose them. For example, if you get 666
points, you will lose most of them at the honor screen! The other way is
kind of a sick rip-off of Killer Instinct. It is the combo manuever. It isn't
hard, really - just jump into the air and do more stunts while airborn. Note
that after each stunt in the same leap, you have less of a chance of actually
doing it and not screwing up. But, if you do manage to get over 12 moves in
the same jump, you just might be awarded with 3333 points...

Well, we hope you can kick some wavin' butt out there! Please send to us your
highest scores and combo maneuvers. You can reach us at:

   Zaerefornn (on AOL)
   Zaerefornn@aol.com (on the Internet)

Note that Majesty now has their own 2mb FTP site on the Internet (courtesy to
America Online)! Since uploading things to AOL to be put in forums usually
takes anywhere from a week to two months, look out for things at are FTP site
MUCH earlier than on normal America Online software libraries. You will also
be able to find the source code to some of our better programs and quite a few
more things than are on AOL, like the never seen Datadraw 2.0! But, wait until
the 19th of November to visit our awesome site, because nothing but a folder
titled "basic" will be there. Of course, while you are reading this, it could
be WAY past then, but who am I to know?

Anyway, to get there on AOL itself, go to Keyword in the Go To menu,
type in FTP, Click Go To FTP, and click on Other Site. Type in:

   users/Zaerefornn

and hit the Enter key. You should be brought to it. If that doesn't work, E-
Mail us with questions.

If you aren't on AOL, but have Internet FTP access, go into your FTP program
and go to the following FTP directory:

   users.aol.com:/Zaerefornn

Please - if you have ANY compliments, complaints, or comments, E-Mail us with
them. We love to hear from our supporters, so send in top scores in points &
combo tricks, new stunts you'd like to have in future Stunt Surfers, more
things you'd like in the game, and anything about it that really bugs you. And
speaking of bugs, if you find any, tell us what they are!
