INFO ON THE SET BLASTER VARIABLE
--------------------------------

Worms auto-detects your sound-card settings by
looking at the system environment settings. In
here, there should be a setting which tells the
system how your sound-card is configured, namely

SET BLASTER = A220 I7 D1 (Example, may also
include H5 T6 etc, which are other settings which
are not required by Worms.)

The installer will inform you if this variable
isn't found and you must follow the documentation
below in order to set it.

Firstly, you must distinguish your sound-card
settings, most people do not change their sound
cards from the default settings, so these will be
listed in the manual or can be found by running
some of the utility software that came along with
your soundcard. If you are really stuck and cannot
find them, then try the following two settings as
these will cover most instances;

        Port 220      220
        Dma    1        1
        Irq    5        7

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT SETTINGS:
----------------------------------------

DOS/WINDOWS 3.1/WINDOWS95

Go to the DOS PROMPT and type the following;

EDIT C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT

A file editor will appear with a number of lines
of instructions on. Use the cursor to get to the
bottom and type in the following lines;

SET BLASTER=Axxx Dx Iy

Where xxx is the PORT address of the soundcard,
typically this is 220. Where x is the DMA channel,
almost exclusively always set to 1. Where y is
the IRQ address, commonly 5, 7 or 10.

Once you have entered this line, you must exit the
program, saving any changes. If in WINDOWS, EXIT
the MS-DOS prompt. Worms will not need to be
re-installed.
