| INTRODUCTION |
----------------

Get ready to stop the invasion with CHAMP Invaders, the seventh release
from CHAMProgramming. This game offers three modes of play: Classic,
which is like an arcade version; CHAMP, which has enhanced graphics,
sounds, and power-ups; and Deluxe Classic, which is like Classic with the
addition of intermissions, splitting and dropping invaders, and much more.

CHAMP Invaders has three skill modes for one or two players. You can
choose from a joystick, mouse, or keyboard for your controller, as well
as the special CHAMP Cable(tm) (sold separately) with an old Atari(tm)
digital joystick.

We hope you enjoy the results.

--------------------
| PLAYING THE GAME |
--------------------

The object of CHAMP Invaders is to protect Earth from wave after
wave of attacking invaders! You control a laser cannon with
unlimited missiles. You must destroy each alien before they take
over the planet while avoiding their return fire. Every so often
an alien escort ship will travel across the top of the screen.
Destroying these ships is difficult, but earns the most points.

The game ends when all your cannons are destroyed or the invaders
reach Earth.

Deluxe Mode
-----------

In Deluxe Mode, the Flashing Saucer wil also appear. You'll earn
200 points if you manage to hit the ship while it's visible.

Some invaders will split into two smaller attackers when hit by
your missiles. Destroying these invaders earns 30 points.

In later levels, the escort ships will drop off re-inforcements
during the attack wave. At the end of each wave, the last invader
will retreat back to space, returning with a new batch of aliens!

NOTE:

In the SHAREWARE version of Invaders, your game will automatically
end when your score exceeds 3000 points. This restriction is
removed in the REGISTERED version of the game.
