 Dear Customers and Friends of the Company, Recently a piece of unauthorized programming was discovered in our exciting new SimCopter game. You can receive the patch on a disk by calling Maxis customer support at 800-336-2947. Called "Easter Eggs," the insertion of unexpected "fun" scenes in computer programs is popular among code writers in the software industry. However, Maxis has a specific policy against programmers' including any unauthorized material in its products because we feel very responsible to our customers for the content of any game that has our name on it. In addition, we have an obligation to reveal all Easter Eggs to the Entertainment Software Rating Board. The programmer was terminated, and a tighter procedure to test compliance is now in place. SimCopter is not part of the Maxis Kids' Entertainment line and is expected to be played primarily by teenagers and adults. However, Maxis has always prided itself on creating engaging software the whole family can enjoy. We hope you will continue to enjoy Maxis games and our commitment to quality for many years.
