The third program in Zurk's World Learning series takes 6 to 10 year olds to three exotic Alaskan ecosystems. Thanks to the natural intelligence programmed into each animal, they experiment with real-life interactions of animals and plants; or they design animated stories based on their own interaction rules, then see their creations magically turn into scripted movies. In Balancing Act (see screen picture) they manipulate animals with Metric or U.S. weights to learn fractions and ratios, multiplications and divisions. With the same, award-winning approach of the earlier two programs, children learn life science, math, sentence structure, creative writing, early programming skills, and logic in an environment that encourages creativity and experimentation. Runs in Windows 95. PowerMac native.
Zurk's Alaskan Trek requires Macintosh System 7 or higher with a Mac LC or above, 256-color display, 8MB Memory, double-speed CD-ROM, and mouse; or Windows 3.1 or higher with a 486 or above, SVGA display, 8MB Memory, double-speed CD-ROM, and mouse. |
