3. SVGA Mode
============

Reloaded supports the VESA VBE standard for Super VGA graphics.
Many super VGA graphics cards are VESA VBE compatible at the
hardware level, requiring no special action on your part to get
the game running correctly.

If you are having problems running this game (especially in
high colour modes) try the following steps.

a) If you have the VESA VBE driver that came with your graphics
card, then install the driver and try to run Reloaded. Most VESA
VBE drivers can be installed from a program that you run at the
DOS command line. Consult the documentation that came with your
graphics card or computer system for installation instructions
and VESA VBE compatibility.

b) If you cannot find a VESA VBE driver for your graphics card call
your graphics card or system manufacturer or dial up their BBS,
Compuserve forum or web site. You will most likely be able to
download a driver or have them send you one.

c) If you do not have a VESA VBE driver for your graphics card or
your VESA VBE driver does not work with Reloaded then try Scitech
Display Doctor that is included with this game on the \SCITECH
directory. Please note that although we have included Display
Doctor for your convenience, this is a shareware product produced
by another company. If it works for Reloaded and solves
compatibility problems for you, then you may want to continue
using it for this and other games. To do this you must register
this product following the instructions during the installation
process.

4. Technical Information
========================
Reloaded features several modes for multiple players: Serial
cable, modem play and IPX-based network.

Modem Play
----------

Reloaded offers over 80 included setups for various modems. If
you experience problems setting up your modem, or your modem is
not displayed on the list included with the game, there are
several options you can try. First, most of our strings will
generally work with brand name compatible modems. For instance,
if you own a USRobotics modem that is not listed, try using the
USRobotics Sportster 14.4/28.8 setting. Unfortunately, each
modem brand has settings that differ between other brands.
Listed below is a common initialisation string that may prove
helpful - put this in the INIT: column in the Player Setup.

AT&F &D2 &C1 S0=0

This string will set up the modem at it's default settings,
turns off error correction and flow control, and also makes
sure the modem does not automatically answer. If you have
a "MODEM ERROR", try consulting your manual for options
regarding disabling error correction and CTS/RTS flow control.

Net Play
--------

You must have IPX drivers loaded before you start Reloaded
to be able to enjoy net play. If these drivers are not
loaded, you will receive a 'NETWORK ERROR'.

Due to copy protection the Reloaded CD must be in your CD
drive at all times.

5. Game Playing Tips (brought to you by Gremlin QA Department)
==============================================================

Try and stop yourself from shooting harmless inanimate objects
(however satisfying it is) just for the hell of it, unless you want
a low accuracy rating at the end of the level. It also wastes any
weapon power-up's and ammo you've picked up along the way.

It's worth searching around for hidden pick-ups because this will
increase your killing effectiveness and prolong your life. Remember
where the Medi-kits are around the level, ready for when you need
them most. Don't waste them by picking them up if your energy is
nearly full (unless you know you'll not be going there again and it
needs topping up). Saving Medi-kits is especially important on the
Chez Cheb level, where the surgeons wield deadly poison-loaded
syringes.

Practice using the strafe and run functions because they can come
in handy. For example using strafe and run you could hide behind a
wall, then strafe sideways facing your enemies while spraying them
with bullets, and then strafe quickly back to safety behind the wall
again. Run is very useful most of the time, but learn where not to
use it. You'll may end up running straight in trouble or falling
from a narrow ledge. When the going gets tough - RUN! Get to a safe
place, and before you can say "Chicken", strafe your way back into
the fray.

Don't waste smart bombs to kill just a couple of enemies. Use the
run button to get into the middle of them before using it. If
possible, entice as many enemies as possible to surround by
running near them before using it (bear in mind the effectiveness
of the characters smart bomb e.g. Sister Magpies random scatter
may miss some enemies, and The Consumer's takes a couple of seconds
to get into full swing).

If you are just about to lose your last life on a Continue, use
your smart bombs up to help save your remaining energy (there's
less chance of getting killed this way than using your gun and
dodging enemy bullets). You'll get another 3 smart bombs on your
next continue.

On maze like levels where it could be easy to get lost use the map
to see if you have been there before.

Zoom the `camera' out to get a wider view of the player area. You'll
be able to see enemies sooner and the player(s) will have more room
to manoeuvre. You'll have to zoom back in on certain levels to read
the signs.

Learn how to make best use of you character strengths. For example,
when using The Consumer you can fire in a direction and then run
after her bullets. The bullets then cut a swathe through any
unfortunate enemies in their way.
