CALLING IN EXTA HELP*
*
Aubagne, France.*
August 16th, 1944.*
*
With the 36th Infantry Division holding the northern flank,
the other two American divisions and newly arriving French forces were able to push west
toward Toulon. The French are charged with capturing Marseilles and Toulon.
The Americans will move to the northwest of the cities and head straight for the headquarters
of the German LXII Corps at Avignon.*
Frantically calling in any available forces, General Wiese, commander of
the German forces, in Southern France, attempts to establish a defensive line.
Your forces including the 3rd Recon Troop and the 1st Battalion of the 7th Regiment, are
ordered to break through the positioning enemy soldiers
and take the city of Aubagne. Intelligence reports that enemy units of
the 932 Grenadier Regiment have set up hurried defenses around the city
and expect armored help at any moment.*
