INSTALLING WAR, INC.
-------------------
WIN95:
   >If you have AutoPlay enabled: When the AutoPlay screen appears, click the
       [INSTALL WAR, INC] button and follow the onscreen prompts.
   >If the AutoPlay screen does not appear: Click START... SETTINGS... CONTROL
       PANEL... ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. Windows should locate INSTALL.EXE on the
       War, Inc. CD. Click the [NEXT] button and follow the onscreen prompts.
   *NOTE* Because War, Inc. is a DOS-based program, the SETUP routine does not
       create a shortcut on either you Windows Start Button or Windows Desktop.
       See "CREATING SHORTCUTS IN WINDOWS 95" below for the steps to create
       Start Button and Desktop shortcut icons.

MS-DOS:
   1> At the C:\ Prompt, type "D:" (without the quotes) where D is the drive
      letter of your CD-ROM drive. Hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
   2> Type "INSTALL" and hit the Enter key on your keyboard to begin the MS-DOS
      installation of War, Inc. Follow the onscreen prompts.


CREATING SHORTCUTS IN WINDOWS 95
--------------------------------
On the Start Button:
   1> Right-click (press the right mouse button once while pointing at) the
      [START] button on your Taskbar (the bar running along the bottom of your
      screen).
   2> On the menu that appears, click OPEN.
   3> On the Menu Bar (the list of choices running along the top of the window),
      click FILE... NEW... SHORTCUT.
   4> Click the [BROWSE] button and browse until you are in the War, Inc.
      directory. By default, this directory path will be C:\I-MAGIC\WARINC\.
   5> Double-click the WARINC.EXE file in the War, Inc. directory. This will
      copy the path and file name into the previous Create Shortcut window.
   6> Click the [NEXT] button.
   7> Retype the Shortcut name, if desired, and then click the [FINISH] button.
   8> Close the Start Button folder window. The new shortcut will appear on the
      Start Button.

On the Desktop:
   1> Right-click (press the right mouse button once while pointing at) any
      part of your Desktop area which DOES NOT have an icon or folder on it.
   2> On the menu that appears, click NEW... SHORTCUT.
   3> Click the [BROWSE] button and browse until you are in the War, Inc.
      directory. By default, this directory path will be C:\I-MAGIC\WARINC\.
   5> Double-click the WARINC.EXE file in the War, Inc. directory. This will
      copy the path and file name into the previous Create Shortcut window.
   6> Click the [NEXT] button.
   7> Retype the Shortcut name, if desired, and then click the [FINISH] button.
   8> Close the Desktop folder window. The new shortcut will appear on the
      Desktop.


RUNNING WAR, INC.
----------------
WIN95:
   > Click START... WARINC.EXE (or whatever name you renamed the shortcut).
   - OR -
   > Double-click the My Computer icon. Browse until you are in the WARINC
     directory. Double-click the WARINC.EXE program.

MS-DOS:
   1> At the C:\ Prompt, type "CD\I-MAGIC\WARINC" (without the quotes).  Hit the
      Enter key on your keyboard.
   2> Type "WARINC" and hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

#                             ADDENDUM TO MANUAL                               #

FULLY INSTALLING WAR, INC.
-------------------------
   You may wish to fully install War, Inc.'s animation to smooth framerate
during playback. This can be done by manually copying the animation files.

WIN95:
   1> Run Windows Explorer (click START... PROGRAMS... WINDOWS EXPLORER).
   2> Scroll down in the left pane of the Explorer window until you see the 
      I-MAGIC folder. Double-click it.
   3> Scroll down in the left pane of the Explorer window until you see the D:
      drive (where D is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive).
   4> Click the plus (+) symbol next to the D: drive icon.
   5> Drag the ANIMS folder on the D: drive up in the left pane until it is over
      the C:\I-MAGIC\WARINC folder and that folder highlights. Release the mouse
      button to begin copying the animations files to your hard drive.

MS-DOS:
   1> Type "D:" (without the quotes) where D is the drive letter of your CD-ROM
      drive.
   2> Type "COPY D:\ANIMS\ANIM*.SMK C:\I-MAGIC\WARINC\ANIMS\" and hit the Enter key on
      your keyboard.


PLAYING MUSIC CDs DURING GAME PLAY
----------------------------------
   War, Inc. does allow for playback of normal music CDs during game play.
   Simply remove the War, Inc. CD from the CD-ROM drive and place the desired
music CD into the drive. From the OPTIONS MENU, choose PLAY to start from the
first audio track.
   *NOTE*: If you have AutoPlay enabled for your CD-ROM drive, DO NOT put the
War, Inc. CD back into the drive after removing it to play a music CD. Doing so
will cause the game to shutdown to the Windows Desktop when the AutoPlay runs.


ADDITIONAL KEYBOARD COMMANDS
----------------------------

Alt - E : Toggles the red boxes which, by default, surround enemy units.

Alt - M : Reverses the functioning of the left and right mouse buttons.
