$  In mid-thirties, due to the necessity of development of military forces, new kind of service was risen. Home $
$Guard (Obrona Narodowa) units were based on territorial volunteering forces. Its units consisted of reservists$
$and young people.  Soldiers weren't quartered in barracks. They kept their equipment at home, while weapons$
$were deposited in local police stations or garrisons.  Such system ensured very short mobilisation time.$
$  In case of war Home Guard tasks included guard and auxiliary duties.  First line employment was not$
$not considered in most cases, because of weak anti-tank and anti-aircraft armament. Nevertheless difficult$
$tactical circumstances often forced their use instead of regular infantry units.$
