$  Heavy artillery gun batteries formed general coverage of infantry operations, and were also used to fight $
$enemy's long-range gun batteries. Infantry divisions were assigned with heavy artillery commands composed of$
$17 calibre 155 mm Schneider model howitzer batteries and 29 calibre 105 mm Schneider model cannons.         $
$Regiments of heavy artillery (pac) alloted to the infantry divisions in the battlefields, composed of two   $
$commands, twelve cannons each, constituted additional support. Polish heavy artillery was worse than German $
$in relation to the quantity and movability of arms. Horse traction was the reason of low mobility level of  $
$dacs (heavy artillery commands). An additional flaw was telecommunication network based on wire connections $
$vulnerable to aviation operations and saboteur. However in the cases when the Poles held their defence using$
$previously prepared positions, heavy artillery served well in fights with the enemy.                        $
